  1. @Danares Yes, you're correct, it should read "Resilio Sync" - Thanks for reporting, I'll flag this up to the relevant person. @YI WANG Yes, Resilio Connect is a separate product, please see: https://getsync.com/connect/
  2. @xtraeme I've flagged this to Resilio's legal team for review.
  3. If you purchased a "Pro" license when it was BT Sync, then its valid for Resilio Sync Pro. You'll find the scheduler via Preferences -> Advanced -> Bandwidth -> Weekly Schedule -> Set Scheduler. If you can't find it via the above, please ensure you're running the latest 2.4.x build
  4. Try changing the advanced (power user) preference "folder_defaults.delete_to_trash" to "false". This will then ensure that for all future folders you add to Sync on your device, deleted files won't be stored in .sync\Archive sub folders
  5. Hi @JCV, please have a quick search of the forums.... there's a number of threads covering this. For example:
  6. @dazdingo There is no official "cloud storage" component/service for Sync. The whole point of Sync is that it allows you to sync between your devices without having to rely on a 3rd party "cloud". As Roman eluded to, in the past a few people have tried to flog their own unofficial "cloud storage" services for Sync - none of which were ever officially endorsed by the team behind Sync - however, pretty much all of these have since fallen by the way side. As privacy & security are paramount to users of Sync, those desiring a "cloud" component in their Sync "mesh" have tended to either resort to their own "always on" NAS drives, or installed Sync on a Linux VPS or similar - that way they have an "always online" node that they control, without having to rely on any 3rd party cloud storage solution.
  7. The new Sync Scheduling features of 2.4 apply "globally" that is, they affect all folders within that particular instance of Sync - they are not "per folder" settings. More information on the Sync Scheduler may be found here: https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/210783266
  8. Unless you explicitly set the advanced "Power User" preference "rate_limit_local_peers" to "true", the bandwidth limits you set will only apply to external traffic outside of your local area network (LAN). Bandwidth limits will not be applied to syncing between your "local" devices (i.e. those on your home/work network, etc) if "rate_limit_local_peers" is set to the default of "false"
  9. eldrin, those files were probably left because either a) they are log files which can safely be deleted (i.e. the .log file), or b) they are temporary files (in the case of the .tmp file) and so can be safely deleted, or c) they were in-use by Windows (in the case of the .dll files) at the time you installed Resilio Sync, and so Windows couldn't delete them whilst they were in use. They should all be safe to delete, but if in doubt, you could always rename the folder to something like C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent Sync-OLD first, reboot your machine, check Sync is running correctly, and if so then delete C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent Sync-OLD
  10. That's correct - You can't upload/download data faster than the physical upload/download speed limitations (bandwidth) of your internet connection allow!
  11. How have you "told Sync to upload/download at 100MB/Second"? Do you mean you've set global upload/download bandwidth limits? ...in which case, please note that these are upper limits, meaning Sync will transfer data "up to but not exceeding" these limits. The actual speed you'll achieve may be far less depending upon a number of factors outside of Sync's control. For example, if you're on a very slow wifi/ADSL connection that only achieves ever maximum speeds of say 4MB/s, Sync won't be able to transfer files at a greater rate that this!
  12. Hi Lars - simply change Sync's synchronization mode to "Disconnected". That way you'll then be able to specify a specific location for each subsequent folder you add to Sync. For more information, please see: https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/205457775-Synchronization-Modes
  13. Sync requires an internet connection in order to sync over the internet. If you've lost your wi-fi signal because you've moved out of its range, you won't be able to sync (or indeed do anything else) over wi-fi until you reconnect to the internet. This is not a Sync problem - it's an issue with your internet/wi-fi connection.
  14. No, that's absolutely fine! You can add folders that are already "identical" on two or more devices to Sync, and Sync will simply index them, and only sync future changes to the folder content
  15. Hi DeAnn, have you had a look at the Sync Help Center? There's a wealth of information there, including a whole section dedicated to "Getting Started With Sync"
  16. Change your folder synchronization mode to "Disconnected" - that way, you'll be able to connect each new incoming folder to a folder name of your choice.
  17. Yes, generally speaking the more nodes you have in your Sync "mesh" the faster your files with transfer (note, however, if you have more than 50 nodes in your mesh for any given folder, a maximum of 50 nodes will be connected at any one time) The ultimate aim of Sync is for your files to sync across all nodes as quickly as possible. Therefore, specifically in relation to large files, the 3rd of your scenarios is essentially true; although it may not be evenly distributed with 10% of the file going to each of the 10 nodes. The distribution will be based upon the speed of each node. i.e. if one of the 10 nodes has a faster connection speed/more bandwidth than another of the nodes, it will receive/send more of the file than the slower node.
  18. More information on the Sync API may be found at https://www.getsync.com/api/ ...where you can apply for a free six month non-production Evaluation Key, and where you'll also find details for purchasing an API key
  19. Have you tried excluding .partial files from syncing via .sync/IgnoreList? See: https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/205458165-Ignoring-files-in-Sync-Ignore-List-
  20. From https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/205506619-Pro-Licensing-FAQ: "Each individual user can link as many of their devices that they like to their own identity"
  21. Please check what files/folders are being excluding from syncing due to your ignore rules: https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/205458165-Ignoring-files-in-Sync-Ignore-List- Also, bear in mind that Sync can't synchronize files if they're currently open/locked/in use by other applications.
  22. Don't worry, Nodefield - the team haven't forgotten the Sync community! As you can no doubt imagine, completely rebranding a product takes up a lot of time & resources - but normal service will be resumed very shortly... and Sync 2.4 will be worth the wait!
  23. Sounds like you've installed Sync both as a Windows Service, and as a regular stand-alone Windows application. For further information, please see: https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/207701296-Running-Sync-as-a-service-on-Windows https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/208096663-How-to-uninstall-the-Sync-service-
