It seems sync needs internet whether you are local or not for the tracker. I tried running it local here too (here is in China) and it failed too even on the same router network it appears still needing to connect to the tracker. What for? I have no idea... but it just doesn't work.

Well good to know for me, it's a bit of a shame really... sync is a very good program with one VERY major flaw. The tracker is blocked in China which basically means I cannot use it all.

Myea it stopped working for me too... not even able to sync locally. What is the issue with China and trackers anyway. Btsync staff, can you please look into this? 1. There must be a simple way to get around this like local sniffing to see if btsync runs on the same network. 2. Maybe more trackers should be added so it doesn't get blocked in China. 3. Allow predefined hosts in the Android app to use dyndns or similar.

Oh, then how about implementing a viewer in sync app by for example marking a sync folder 'media'.

Rofl... this is so funny. Well I am an European living in China. Yeah I agree Shimsim each provider, each city, etc... seems to add some additional stuff on top of the big bad golden wall. I am holding my breath on how long it will work smoothly, most of all I wonder why btsync connects to facebook to begin with. That worries me honestly.

Little snitch actually reports several connections to facebook.com. I would suggest to make things more "China friendly" to prevent all out blockage to the app.

Great news! I hope auto save pictures and video per map to camera roll is added next because doing this manually is very tedious ~

I am in China (Foshan, Guangzhou) and have no problems using btsync. If things change I will update this post

Same issue here, my s4 doesnt detect the QR code too. [EDIT] Oh this is odd... I just rebooted my S4 and now the QR scans properly. Maybe you should ask users to reboot their phone before scanning QR codes

I want to keep a map on my computer with my ipad IOS camera roll. Scenario: My mom wants to see the pictures of my baby 1. I add them every or so week to a map on my computer 2. She auto receives those photos in an album in her camera roll Can it be done? How? How it works right now... 1. I add them every or so week to a map on my computer 2. She auto receives those photos in a map inside the sync app 3. She has to manually download photo per photo she wants to see in her camera roll This 3rd step takes up lots of time, it can be improved significantly by adding "auto add to album" On my android phone this is easy, I can add any kind of folder to quickpic, but for ios users camera roll is the only viewer (poor them).

I am comparing to my experience on dropbox... 1. On dropbox there is no ability to sync only certain maps which means a full box sync on the mobile or no box sync at all. I want to be able to sync only certain maps on BTSync. It doesn't have to be as complex as total file sync control... but it would really be handy if you can deselect certain maps from sync to mobile. Not everyone needs their full syncmap on the mobile but only wants certain maps. 2. Right now on dropbox there is no way to invite someone with read only... for example I uploaded a map full of pics of my baby and want to allow my wife's father to be able to get those pic updates like when I post them in that map but dropbox is a full access or no access policy and it sucks. I do not want him to accidentally delete files.
