  1. If you are using Windows, why don't you just make an advanced search in the archive folder with the date Criteria, then just copy and paste the results into a new folder somewhere else? In Linux you can do similar from GUI or use find command.
  2. I have this problem as well. I had 1.4.75 on two client systems and 1.3.x on a VPS with encrypted remote. The Client 1 and Vps synced fine, but the Client2 this morning did not get the changes from the others (was off since 2-3 days). so I tried to upgrade the VPS one to 1.4 as well and ended up in this situation. The first error I saw was "out of sync", after some re-starts, it is now stuck at "sending 100% few seconds remaining" since some hours.
  3. One thing to consider, not all proxies support HTTP Connect method, and out of the ones that support, their Config may be limiting the Connect method to just a few ports. For example at work, our proxy only allows ports 22 443 3000. Other ports won't work. So you need to set other btsync peers working ports to the ones that are allowed by your proxy server. 443 is for sure allowed (https)
  4. Hi, I have a synced folder between two PC's. I then added this folder to my android phone with RW, but not selected automatic sync. I then clicked into this folder inside Sync GUI in the phone, it listed files & folders to me, without syncing them. So far so good. Then I went into a subfolder and clicked two files. They got downloaded to the file system of the phone and now have a green checkmark next to their listing in Sync GUI. Like this: Main Folder ----Subfolder1 ------------file1 ------------file2 Now, I do not want to have these files anymore. If I delete them from the filesystem, I think Sync will synchronize this as a change and delete them from both PCs. I do not want them to be deleted. I simply need Sync to stop syncing them and delete them from the filesystem of the phone, but without deleting them from the other servers. How can I do it? I tried to click the checkmarks, it gives a dialog to open the file. I tried to long press, it selects a file and let me select more, but there's no option to "un-sync". If I click the files, then they simply again try to open. No way to unsync a file once it's selected and downloaded? Do I need to remove the folder and re-add to Sync?
  5. No you won't see them as separate files. Android media daemon probably scanned those files and decided to show you the album arts. You can try to exclude the folder from media scanner. Just put an empty file named .nomedia to the root of this folder. Note that some media players may use this media scanner database to show you your music, so you will need to use one that can scan folders on its own.
  6. Is there still no "sync archive" in Android build?
  7. Still no "SyncArchive" (ie deleted files to go here) support in Android?
  8. I'm not sure to understand your question, but with BtSync, you shall be able to sync the files & folders in your sdcard or extsdcard as long as they are FAT32 or exFAT or NTFS formatted. You may face timestamp issues if it uses ext4. I do not think you can sync those android specific app folders, etc. the app simply won't have permission.
  9. I made a test case today. I added a folder on my PC, synced it to my VPS with the encrypted key. All went well. I deleted some files from the PC, thus I assume they went to the SyncArchive folder on the vps. But as everything is encrypted in the VPS, it's not possible to easily find any trace of this. Then, I removed that sync folder from BtSync on my PC. I saw that VPS btsync disconnected from it. This shall leave the vps btsync with the folder & related SyncArchive folder as is. I then added this folder back into my PC using RW key. This time, everything synced back from the vps to the PC, unfortunately, except the SyncArchive folder. It was not synced. This shows me that, "backup" function ie the SyncArchive is useless when you use an encrypted remote, since you can never download those files back and you can't decrypt them neither. So, if you accidentally delete a file and it's propaged to your encrypted remote, time to say goodbye to your file...
  10. Android application to act like the desktop one, ie having a SyncArchive folder for deleted files.
  11. Using the API, I created an encrypted read-only remote. It has 70gb files in it and seems to work OK. (1.2.73). Now, I deleted some files from the source and they should have gone to the SyncArchive on the remote. Since they are all encrypted, I can't see them. Is there a way to download (to recover) those deleted files from the SyncArchive of the encrypted remote, without downloading all 70gb files (hoping that the SyncArchive will also come with it), and hopefully won't come at the last bits of the 70gb?
  12. Update: It looks like this function is not working in Android version. The PC version works fine. So then I will ask for it as a feature quest in Android, as I use it as my backup system.
  13. I am syncing my work related files with another PC at home for backup purpose. The other PC has a read-only copy since I do not want that copy to deviate from my copy due to this or that reason. Today, I deleted some files by mistake from a folder (with shift-delete, bad habit!). Of course, it immediately propagated the delete to the PC. However, I was comfortable thinking that the deleted files on the remote PC copy would go to SyncArchive folder, from which I can recover them. I found out that the SyncArchive is empty. Does this mean SyncArchive does not work for Read Only sync? Can it be enabled with config file or maybe with a new feature? It would be very convenient to have it for extra backup security and preventing data loss by mistake, like in my case.
  14. But can't you know their dns hostnames? Those you can add to the folder properties. ie like vm1.mydomain.com etc.
  15. maybe you edited the file locally? (ie opened itunes once?) Can you try the option to "restore modified files to original version" and then maybe it will update the local copy.
  16. You can enable lan sync and put static hostnames and ports as an alternative. This way you won't need DHT, Relay or Tracker.
  17. Thanks for the hint. I checked and it seems it's using the wan IP. But that may be the case since I added this host specifically to the folder configuration. There are some uploads going on, when they finish, I'll try removing it and observe the behavior. I'm not much worried about the multicast, but rather "use tracker" method. I wonder which IP's it registers to the tracker...
  18. I have a vps and it's running openvpn. My home router is connected to it and all the computers in my home network can reach the vps from its internal openvpn ip 192.168.10.1 I've setup btsync on the vps and it's listening on all interfaces, including its normal wan interface and the openvpn interface (192.168.10.1). When a PC in my home network tries to sync with the vps, it has two route options. Either to connect from the openvpn intrernal ip (192.168.10.1) or the usual wan ip of the vps. Which route does it choose and how? I have seen both IP's appearing (192.168.10.1 and the wan IP) briefly in the webUI before it converts to the btsync hostname. Now I do not know if it's using the openvpn ip to reach vps or its wan address. The direct connection to the wan ip of vps is definitely faster.
  19. Nothing helped. I shutdown all computers & turned them on again. This time, Android finds Ubuntu with LAN Sync, Windows does not find any of them. When I enabled Use Tracker, then all of them started to find each other.
  20. I re-added sync folders to my Windows PC & Android. Windows has all options disabled but only LAN Sync enabled. Ubuntu likewise, for the test purpose. Note that when "use tracker" was enabled on Windows & Ubuntu, they find each other & sync. Android still does not find any peers, although there are two on the same LAN with LAN Sync enabled, and both of them have "use tracker" selected. Now, back to test case, only LAN sync is enabled on both Ubuntu & Windows. This time, when I shut down Windows Btsync, do some changes on Ubuntu (files source), and then re-launch Windows, I can see that Windows is also NOT syncing anymore. So definitely there's an issue on LAN Sync. Android is also sitting idle with "0 devices online". All of these are on the same cabled LAN. I will play with IGMP_Snooping on the openwrt router and maybe try to install an IGMP Querier... Android (1.2.12) & Windows (1.2.73) are latest client. Ubuntu is 1.2.72.
  21. Thanks Kos13, but how can I check if multicast is disabled or not? I'm using Openwrt recent build and both machines are on same LAN (no wifi). And all other services can find each other (ie by zeroconf/avahi).
  22. Jochen, I'm having the same problem and described the exact problem in a post today I guess maybe mine is the duplicate.
  23. Hi, I'm syncing two PC's one Ubuntu 13.10 32bit and another desktop Windows. Both run 1.2.72. Windows has a read-only copy of the Ubuntu PC. So Ubuntu is feeding Windows. The sync seems finished at the Windows side, I can status is "Synced on ....date". However, on Ubuntu side, I see this: Folder Size Connected devices and status/workdocs 5.3 GB in 3590 files (directsync icon) OfficePC (up_arrow)665 B this 665B up bytes never finishes and always stays like this. I've seen this at the home computer as well, but the "up bytes" seems to stuck at random size. I'm running the btsync with --nodaemon parameter to see logs, but nothing related on the logs except complaining about not mapping port with NAT-PMP (or UPnP if I enable it). This was happening on all previous BTSync builds. Any insights?
  24. Thanks a lot for this info. I'm looking forward to it impatiently!
  25. This is what I described in this post: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/24921-read-only-function-still-not-working-as-described/ it seems it will be added in the future, perfect! The function is called (available on desktop versions, but not yet on Android:) - Restore modified files in read-only folder
