  1. I'm using 1.1.12. This problem was also occurring with an earlier build I had installed (don't remember which), and I tried 1.1.12 to see if it would fix it.

I have the exact same problem and sent logs over also but havn't heard back yet. 1.1.12 seems to have made it better not not completly fixed it. I still have times where the files show over and over again and nothing actually seems to be happening. Not 100% urgent for me and I hope they fix it with a later release, but still very happy with everything.

  2. I have been running sync for a few day to sync and backup some computers. Today I noticed my log file was 20GB, I stopped the app, deleted the log file and in a few minutes it is already at 50MB.

I see a much of messages, but there is one line that is repeated over and over with different file names

Merge: found local node without file: <FILENAME>

I did a line count on the file and there are 443908 lines with that in it, and less then 200 without it.

What could be causing this, and how can I correct it?

  3. Yes, that would be a great optional feature. I think they way it works now is good in some cases, but I would love it if I could make a FULL sync read-only folder. That way deleted files are detected and replaced, and if a file is accidentally modified on the destination it would get updated back to the original version.

  4. Completly understand, thats why on my side I then do snapshots of the data so we can recover old files. Also at their place I have Windows backup which supports versions going to an extrnal drive.

This is just the off site backup that is always part of a good back plan if there is a fire/theft/....

While, BTSync it self isn't a backup solution (could be when they add versioning, which they say they may), it can be used as part of a backup solution.

  5. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this and could help. I was planning to setup a new sync at my parents house to backup thier computer to my house. I wanted to do thier whole home folder on a windows 7 machine. I set it up and let it index the files, but it never seemed to stop. I think what was happeneing based on the history is it would put it's control files in the AppData folder, but then the btsync would see that file, and index it, creating a new file, it would then index that new file and create another new file. It seemed to just do this over and over. Is what I am thinking correct

Is what I am thinking a bad idea, or am I just not implementing it properly?
