  1. I have very good experiences for large volume sycncing with "Syncovery" (http://www.syncovery.com/)
  2. Simply update it via BitTorrent Sync ... just put a R/O key into the application ))
  3. +1 or better of course: solve the battery drain issue but the option to sync only when charging also came to my mind ...
  4. but it should be possible to enable/disable this on a per folder basis
  5. Remote Management of other nodes. Currently I have BTSync installed on 6 Desktops and 3 Android devices. The more folders and the more devices I start to manage (because BTSync is such a great piece of software!) the more I would like a "centralized" way of managing it - OK, centralized is probably the wrong expression for a distributed system. But I would like to be able to manage all the nodes from one site. E.g. If I have a new folder, I usually want to sync it on all nodes. Now I have to use Remote Desktop, etc. - instead I would prefer to connect to other nodes directly from BTSync in order to change the configuration (password protected of course - or just by using an admin secret ))).
  6. In the folder view/tab you could add an extra columns showing the current status, e.g. - Synced or - Device A (^), Device B (v) ^ ... the arrow for uploading, v ... the arrow for downloading so that on can see the current status/operations on a per-folder-basis
  7. Especially on Android devices I do not let it run all the time, I often start it just to sync with the desktops, and then quit it again. So maybe add an option to automatically shutdown BTSync when all folders have been synced.
  8. Group/Filter/Sort the lists "Devices" and/or "Folders". Currently I have 15 folders synced between 9 devices (not every folder on every device), so the "Devices" tab gets a little bit unorganized. It would be great to be able to define sort order and also group the list either by device or by folder, so that it's e.g. possible to see all connected devices per folder, or all active folders per device. Maybe this makes sense for the "Status" column as well: group by sync status: one group with synced entried, another group with unsynced entries.
  9. I now have installed the latest Android version 1.1.7 which support Full Sync (Selective Sync in prior versions was no option for me, since I want to sync my music/image collection to the phone/tablet automatically). Basically everything works fine. But there is a strange behaviour: even if everthing is synced, and no files change, it does again some syncing (both GUIs indicate that there are uploads/downloads active). Then after a while it's synced again, but this behaviour does not stop (Windows version is current 1.1.27) Another observation: after restarting the App it seems to index everything again. This takes a while (and probably also has an negative impact on battery life) for my 4000 images that are synced. This surely is no major problem on desktop clients, but for mobile clients there may be a better approach. Then my wishlist: option to hide the icon in the notification bar (I know there is an option to hide icons for apps, but this would also hide icons with "real notifications" like errors or status reports, etc.). If the app is implemented as service, there is no need to "keep the app alive" with the notification trick. Also because BTSync probably handles app terminations and restarts anyway. make the functionality similar to the desktop app: show which devices are online, show status in the overview (synced, uploading, downloading), size and number of files of each folder notifications if files have been received/updated (optional) include some basic help texts, so that one knows how the functions basically work (e.g. camera backup: does it copy? does it move? what happens if I delete images one device? what happens if I delete images on remote folder?) But overall: very good work!
