Here are some reasons, not sure if they are relevant for you, though still:

    HTTPS links support

    Proxy server support

    Finder / Explorer integration

    Moved/renamed folders support

    Sync speed optimization

Bug fixes found by users in 1.3

+more bug fixes in latest 1.4 builds (and more are coming).

But. You just pointed out core functionality fixes/improvements and not the issue at hand - the UI...

  2. I'm also still on 1.3, for similar reasons as stated above. Actually, the UI of 1.4 while meant to be easier to use, completely confuses my less-tech-savvy friends. I've discouraged them from upgrading. That, and the the fact that I also dislike it. 1.3 is lean, mean, and lightweight.

Way is see it, something similar to the uTorrent story will happen with Sync. Eventually.

Speaking of which (and somewhat offtopic), this is on the uTorrent front page:

    Light. Limitless.

    Elegant, efficient torrent downloading.

    And imagine this:

    Light. Limitless.

    Elegant, efficient syncing.

But what happens instead? Go figure.

(Sorry, I don't mean to be a troll)
  3. It is your right to change the gui, in order to make it more maintainable, portable, and so on, but please think about the usability. The current  Version is completly unusable. I need 5min to find the key for my Directory, and this can't be your truth...

Why don't you use the simple right-click-menu furthermore? It was so simple and very useful.

Would you please upload 1.3 anywhere? the new one doesn't sync anything and is complete crap...

    Here you go http://syncapp.bittorrent.com/1.3.109/

  4. Assuming you're using full access secrets on both devices, the end result will be that both devices contain an identical set of files.

In any instance where two identical files exist on both devices, assuming their last modified dates are also identical, nothing will happen (i.e. they won't transfer again) - but if they are different, the newer version will propagate to the other device.

So, wait... BTSync doesn't check file checksums to see whether they are in fact the same files and just relies on dates? Even if the dates are different but the checksusm are the same - then surely there's no need to sync anything (except maybe change the date on the "older" file)?

  5. +1 for .SyncArchive from me too.

I reckon it was overlooked in the rush to make a new build for us anyway, and it was meant to be .SyncArchive in the first place.

Being able to configure the location of SyncArchive/Trash would be sweet. I wouldn't mind keeping all archives/trash in a completely separate location from a particular sync folder. Sure would make them a hell of a lot easier to manage.
