Nested folders are supported, but there are few rules:
- parent or child folder should not be in Selective Sync mode
- parent and child folder should have the same permission level (RW)
- you can't add folder by link as nested folder, because Sync does not know link permissions level until it is approved
In other cases nested folders should work fine.

Yes, but what I am worried about is installing the 64-bit version over the 32-bit version without uninstalling the latter first. Should be fine, I guess.
Yes it should work without any issues, but I would recommend you to backup your settings before making such upgrade (just make a copy of %appdata%\BitTorrent Sync)

Hi David,
You do not need to uninstall 1.4.
2.x will automatically upgrade your old settings. Also it will backup your old settings just in case you will want to back to 1.4 for some reason.

We have received several complaints about Upgrade Error on mac. We are looking at it.
If you want to update to 2.2.5 you can do it manually:
1) quit current running BitTorrent Sync instance
2) download the the latest version from https://www.getsync.com
3) open downloaded dmg file4) drug-n-drop BitTorrent Sync to Application directory
5) run BitTorrent Sync again

Hello, to maximize my sync ability of a project folder I have it on my usb at all times, however, since there are times I do not have access to it, I also have it to sync to devices (such as my phone) from my usb as a base.
The problem come when I plug in my usb in another computer than my main one, change a file on my phone, and expect it to change on the usb, this doesn't do anything, the only way I can make this work is to reset the folder's owership and this is not optimal to be done every single time I switch computers.
tl;dr Allow more than one device to sync a specific folder without have to reset folder's ownership every time.

If I understand you correctly, you should be able to do that with the current BitTorrent Sync version: you need to create a new sync folder using the path from USB device on one pc, copy RW folder key and enter it on another pc with selecting the same folder from USB device(if it asks to reset ownership just click yes).
After that if u plug the USB to any of these 2 PCs btsync will automatically detect the folder and sync it.
BUT I do not recommend to use this way, BitTorrent Sync stores information about files locally and adding the same physical folder to several instances of BitTorrent Sync could make synchronisation issues in some cases. This pattern was not tested in our lab at all.
More correct approach is to create a separate folders on each device and sync it.

To change the identity you can go to My Devices, select the current device and press "Unlink this device button" then Sync will ask you to create a new Identity or enter the secret for already existing one.
We know that it is not clear, we will fix it in future releases

This is a known warning, you could ignore it. We will double-check why "plugin com.bittorrent.Sync.FinderExtension invalidated" happens.
But these are not reasons of the hang. Could you please reproduce the issue and create a sample of BitTorrent Sync process using Activity Monitor? Also could you please send us a log file from ~/Library/Application Support/BitTorrent Sync/sync.log.

Do you use the latest version of BitTorrent Sync? Version 2.2.4 contains some fixes related to Mac OS 10.11 compatibility. You can download it from here: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41378-latest-desktop-build-224/.
If the issue is reproduced please try to run BitTorrent Sync from terminal, just type "/Applications/BitTorrent\ Sync.app/Contents/MacOS/BitTorrent\ Sync" in Terminal window and check if there is any errors in the output.

Looks like this UI bug was introduced in the newest version. It happens on all 3 of my Macs.
Hi, thanks for reporting an issue. Looks like the issue is related to compatibility with Mac Os El Capitan with "Automatically hide and show the menu bar" system preference. Have you updated the OS's recently?
We will fix an issue in next builds.

On Android, I never use the BitTorrent Sync app. I always use a file manager to browse and edit my files. When I save, BTS auto-magically detects the change and syncs it. Is that possible on iOS? I currently don't have any iOS devices to test, but will probably buy one again in the future.
iOS doesn't allow a user to browse files stored on the disk. Also an application on iOS doesn't have an access to files which are owned by another application.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you the time frame. BitTorrent Sync is a young project and we often change the priority of new features to make project better.

A green marker in iOS application means that file is on your iOS device. If you add file from iOS device this file will have a green marker when you add the file.
Unfortunately for now there is no way to understand if files were uploaded to your server. You can just see when iOS device started to upload files: a speed bar will appear and when it finish uploading files the speed bar will hide.

Quick question that may have been covered, I checked by couldn't see it. Does the camera backup only cover pictures taken on the device and screenshots and pictures saved from email, the web etc. or does it cover everything?
My question is I import photos to my iPad off my camera with the SD card reader device will these be backed up as well?
Camera Backup makes backup of "Camera Roll" album only.

I don't think Apple will allow applications to delete photos from Camera Roll ever.
But you can do something like this:
- set up Photo Backup on iOS device
- add your BTSync folder that contains the photos from the last 7 days to iOS device as the regular Sync folder.
The is the only restriction: your wife will have to delete photos from Camera Roll. -
I'm not expert of Linux. I will ask the guys to answer how you can install BTSync on Seagate Wireless Plus.

Yes, you are right, iOS has a lot of limitations. An application can't delete files from Camera Roll. That is why we don't make full access synchronization for Camera Roll on iOS.

Yes, BT Sync can cause significant battery loss because it have to sync a lot of data (usually Camera Roll contains several GB's). Now BT Sync doesn't run in background, it can sync data only when application is opened.

It's a known issue. Unfortunately you can't change it now. We will fix it in future updates.

Unfortunately Photo Backup in BT Sync iOS only backs up Camera Roll album for now. But as I see some users want to copy other albums too. We will think about adding an ability to choose albums for back up.

@anses It looks like the screenshot shows a share dialog for Advanced Folder. Is it so? Keys are not supported for Advanced Folders by architecture.
