  1. Sync 2.3 has a new advanced setting called max_packet_size which is set to 32 by default. Does this mean that Sync uses 32 byte packets? Isn't that terribly small? Wouldn't a packet size closer to the typical MTU of 1500 bytes be better for performance? Please explain what this setting is and how it works. I do not see it explained at http://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/207371636-Power-user-preferences Thanks!
  2. +1 It would be great to have "Ignore list..." on the drop down menu of each folder and a GUI for managing the list, which would self-propagate.
  3. Keep in mind that Sync cannot sync two folders on the same computer, even if they are on different hard disks. It sounds like you might be wanting to do this in order to populate the encrypted folders in the cloud.
  4. Roman, would you mind taking a look at http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41398-strange-behavior-when-adding-a-new-peer/ for me? Thanks!
  5. I see a lot of messages like this in the log file: [2015-10-08 08:26:36] MC[D25B] [b36B]: Local file MediaCreationToolx64.exe is older than remote t:1441724762/1441740044 ot:455/160 o:10F119013284D5E6286A5CDEE478519EA735BC59/107639F80167989E9B2827BF452EBB5215D932AC The new peer has time sync configured in Windows like all the others do, by default.
  6. Update: After the initial sync completed, I restarted the client. It indicated that almost 400 files needed to be SENT to the peer that was used to receive the files, and almost 1400 files to all other peers. Looking at one of the other peers shows that it needs to SEND the same number of files to the new peer. However, none of the peers actually try to send anything. If a new file is added to the new peer, the number of files to send increases by 1, but the new file is not sent to any peer. I have uninstalled BitTorrent Sync, removed settings from AppData\Roaming, and removed the .sync folder. Reinstalling 2.2.1, 2.2.2, or 2.2.4 results in the same status. (almost 400 to send to one peer; almost 1400 to all others, but nothing transfers)
  7. I have a folder which was shared among 7 peers and working very well, using a mixture of 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 on Windows 7 and Windows 10. I manually added a new Windows 10 peer by copying the R/W key. Once it began syncing, I noticed that all of the files were coming "from" only one of the other peers, and as those files were received the client thought it needed to send the files to the rest of the peers. (See the attached image.) The first sync is about half-way done, and it has been like this the entire time. I have even restarted the new peer. The bad thing about this is that one of the peers which was not being used to receive files was actually on the same local network as the new peer -- this initial sync would have been much faster if the local peer was being used. Another folder added to the same peer displays the same behavior (with fewer peers). Shoudn't the files should be coming in from ALL of the other peers -- isn't using multiple peers to receive files what BitTorrent Sync is good at? I'm confused... please help. I'm using the free version of BitTorrent Sync.
  8. Roman, I submitted a request, including logs, via the UI and mentioned that it should go to you. Is that OK?
  9. The change log says "- Sync shows stub list instead of locked files", and I agree that the stub list is gone. However, for me, the list of locked files is always empty, regardless of how many files the client says are locked. I'm using 2.2.1 FREE
  10. I'm using 1.4.103 to avoid the out-of-sync issue, which happened almost immediately after installing 1.4.111. When reverting to 1.4.103, I had to remove and re-add folders. Everything has been fine since.
  11. The $39.99/year price... is that per peer?
  12. The 1.3 client displayed the amount of data remaining to be uploaded AND downloaded for each folder. The 1.4 client shows only upload or download, not both. I'm not sure how it decides which one to display -- sometimes it changes from one to the other. Is there a plan to "fix" this? Thanks, Stephen
  13. I can't find the version number anywhere in the new 1.4 Windows client. Am I missing something? Was it intentionally removed? Thanks, Stephen
  14. This morning, I noticed that one client is missing from the Devices tab on two of my computers. Restarting BitTorrent Sync in all three locations does not cause the missing client to appear. So, A and B do not see C. C does not see A or B. However, C does see other clients and is syncing to/from them. Very strange. UPDATE: Rebooting "C" resolved the problem.
  15. Here's a discussion on this topic: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/18326-start-sync-as-service-on-windows/
  16. The link to the Android APK at http://syncapp.bittorrent.com/1.1.70/ points to http://syncapp.bittorrent.com/1.1.70/BTSync-1.1.33.apk I understand that the Android version numbers do not match the Windows/Linux ones. However, I have version 1.1.38 on my Galaxy Note II, installed via the Play Store. What is the version number of the latest Android build?
  17. I'm having this problem with version 1.1.38 of the Android client. When I start the app on my Galaxy Note II it will sometimes believe that its (old) version of the file is new and the old version will be pushed to all other clients on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Linux x64. This happened today, with a new sync folder that was created after the update to 1.1.38.
