  1. That Sync installs in %AppData% is normal behavior of Sync.
  2. Please go to help.getsync.com and search for uninstall btsync and you will find a help article. If it is still and issue after uninstalling and re-installing let us know here or open up a support ticket
  3. BTS has a web gui on servers. Please look at help.getsync.com and look for configuration files and servers. You will find an answe there.
  4. So basically you want to be able to have a "Friends List" of known identitys where you can invite them to join your share through BTS gui? And then they will get a notification? That'd be kind of neat! If so, please open up a thread in "Feature Request" with a proper title and good explanation
  5. Yeah it's pretty straightforward! Glad it helped!
  6. I already answer you this here like an hour ago. Can we just not have a conversation across 20 threads? http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41318-problem-installing-btsync-222-on-raspberry/#entry111863 But gladly, again for everybody in this thread: Download ARM package, locate the BitTorrent Sync binary on your pi, extract the binary from the ARM package, replace the file. Done. Of course you should stop BitTorrent Sync prior to all of that. Reason: If you have btsync configured with a different storage path, btsync will start again with that configuration file since you are just replacing an already existing installation with the latest build. If you have not done such configuration, btsync will use .sync in the same dir as the executable/binary. Meaning: Nothing will change.
  7. Nothing special. It is the way it's packaged. The .deb file has also the /etc/init.d/btsync script in it etc - You can take a look yourself if you want to. It is the ARM binary packaged so it's "easier" for users to install. I myself just took out the init script and have my own install/update/backup script on my Pi But the .deb has the ARM package inside of it.
  8. Have you checked if you are running sync in configuration mode with the --config argument?
  9. Guys let's not forget that there is a .deb package for the pi http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41316-latest-desktop-build-223/ There is also a blog post on it http://blog.bittorrent.com/2015/09/04/sync-wd-raspberry-pi-2/ If you want the latest binary: Do what mintwurm said. Install the .deb package and then download the ARM binary and replace the btsync binary in your installation folder with the new one. http://help.getsync.com/customer/portal/articles/2137820 It's also always good to take a look at help.getsync.com to see how to setup the configuration file of BitTorrent Sync
  10. Well have you tried it out? Have you searched the help.getsync.com website? -.-
  11. Sadly you can't, if you have one identity with multiple machines, separate shares. Meaning that if you add a share, 1.4 or newer, it will show up on all machines using the identity of yours. If you have multiple Identities, you can have multiple with your pro license, THEN you will be able to separate it. Then it is like with any other BitTorrent Sync user: you have to send a link or QR to add a folder to your other machine - since it is in a different identity. Did that help? If not, please let us know here since there are other people that might be better at explaining things
  12. If you have 2.2.3 installed the relay and tracker server feature should be enabled - if not make that enabled. Also check if your router has an entry for the port set in BTS configuration in Preferences - Advances - Listening port
  13. Look: http://help.getsync.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2018454-running-sync-in-configuration-mode?b_id=3895
  14. Are you running the latest version as of now? It is 2.2.3 and you can get it here from this thread: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41316-latest-desktop-build-223/ There has been issues with the mode not sticking to it's configured state. Please make sure to update all your machines to the latest version and test again. If you still encounter errors let us know here and we'll try to help figure it out
  15. This is something people have been requesting for a while now. You can add your voice to this thread if you like: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/31315-ability-to-set-a-name-for-a-sync-other-than-the-folder-name/
  16. You can find an updated version of the package in this thread: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41242-latest-desktop-build-222/
  17. Mhh yeah.. I know what you mean. I also wish myself there was a WebGUI version of Selective Sync on Linux where you can just mark the files in a share to download. (Or something like that.. I'm not a UX Designer )
  18. The fact that you have opened multiple threads and your last post's have been about the lack of selective sync on linux really emphasizes that you would like to see that as a new feature. The Sync Engineering team does look in the forum and the last changes to Sync with 2.2 have shown that they have listened to the community so there is hope ;-)
  19. @all He got a response from one of the support people at Sync. The link to the post with the response is here where he corrects the statement quoted here. http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41301-revoke-license-activation/#entry111754
  20. Please use punctuation. This makes it super hard for everyone to understand what your thought process is!
  21. There is currently the possibility for you to use the API and code something where you prompt for all files in a share that you have and then download only a specific file.
  22. Yeah I have requested such thing a while ago but the response was: Don't use My Devices and create links for all shares and you are good. I mean it definitely works but I know what you mean..
  23. Are you running the latest version 2.2.2 ? If not please download it from this thread: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41242-latest-desktop-build-222/ What kind of device(s) are you using? Make sure to have the same version of BitTorrent Sync on all machines for the most reliable service.
  24. I have a Drobo 5N myself and I am using Sync for quite a long time now and I can tell you that it works like expected. Although, the design/layout on how you want to have permissions and what shares and all that is up to you. You can really go super granular or just have it very flat and simple.
  25. @zamorim I am just going to leave this here for you http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/41044-introducing-sync-22/page-2#entry111730 Also I suggest you take a look at this help article on http://help.getsync.com There you will find answers and guides to most questions that have been asked on the forums a lot. 1. http://help.getsync.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1902649-sync-2-2-as-compared-to-sync-1-4 2. http://help.getsync.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2068515-how-do-i-upgrade-my-standard-folders-to-advanced-folders 3.
