  1. An opt-out per peer functionality would be nice. Upon installation a switch or checkbox in the preferences that allows me to opt-out ot automatically adding every share I have on other sync instances.
  2. This has been a feature request since the days of BitTorrent Sync Alpha I guess but here it is again. I'd like to rearange the columns so I can have for example the share option on the very first spot or any other columns on another spot. And since I like to just see the path to my folders and don't need the "Name" column it would be great to disable the "Name" column like any other if I so desire so. I know that there is an icon where I can see the state of the folder but that could just be a column to it self instead of being linked to the name of a shared folder.
  3. mount your volume properly?! Linux, Mac or Windows?
  4. Ok I don't think everyone of the beta users thought it was going to be free forever - they mentioned pretty early that there might be interest for the coorperate sector with BTSync. We are all free to use whatever we want but since we all spent so much time figuring out how to repdroduce bugs, send logs, thinking about features and explaining them in a lot of words throughout the forums it is just like someone punched you in the face. Nothing is final. Everything can change. Even if they now say "It is going to be like this" tomorrow they can change their minds or they won't - we don't know but we can discuss and talk about it. I was/am pissed - not pretending I am not, but maybe we will all find a way to end this without pissing of a huge chunk of the community helped built this.
  5. I don't think so. PS: I saw that my post got deleted just as a heads up
  6. This. Why release information about a product that is staging alpha phase with prizes on a not complete feature list. Why the rush? Heard the thing about Erik from Greylock Partners - is it that? You could have easily released the 2.0 along with the new websites and standalone apps for mobile devices in alpha and we would have jumped on that train, but now this kind of has a bitter taste to it. It is always a way of the how when you do things like that. IMHO.
  7. Just for people as a clarification and avoiding more questions: The Blog posts, at current date, says: As long as these "improvements" contain bug fixes when it comes to out of sync problems etc..
  8. I guess every peer that wants to have access to the pro features, yes. -.-
  9. It relies on the technology behind it, yes, but I don't see why that would be a tragic thing if there was a feature like this.
  10. Just make sure the drive is designed for 24/7 use.. a lot of reading and writing files to the drive at them same time on diferent partitions can decrease the lifetime of the harddrive by a lot. Oh and having three partitions on a harddrive won't help if a "virus" is on the harddrive they will find a way to get to any part of the harddrive and spread as wide a possible. Just make sure all your sync peers have a current antivirus installed - and maybe make sure it's also a good one haha
  11. +1 on this one also I don't know about how much the p2p protokoll has been bend in order to make BTS work but what if: Someone is creating a share (he is the original owner) and he sends the link so some people. At a later point he is the only one able to delete certain peers and by doing that a new key gets automatically created and ditributed to the still active peers without them having to touch the share. This is just me trying to get my thoughts out there
  12. Yosemite as well as BitTorrent Sync is currently in beta so.. what did you expect? I don't think that it'll work untill 10.10 is released
  13. I have it running on my Drobo 5N at all times and there isn't any issue I found. You have to install it on the CLI via SSH but that's no problem. This manual is outdated but works with the new version just fine. There are cron job scripts that check for new BitTorrent Sync version and update them automatically but I don't have any.. sadly http://www.droboports.com/app-repository/btsync-1-0-132
  14. I have a Drobo 5N and that is my script for updating the client on there via SSH cd /mnt/DroboFS/Shares/DroboApps/btsync./service.sh stopmkdir -p etc data sbinwget -O btsync_arm.tar.gz http://syncapp.bittorrent.com/1.3.106/btsync_arm-1.3.106.tar.gztar zxf btsync_arm.tar.gzchmod a+x btsyncmv btsync sbin/rm btsync_arm.tar.gz/mnt/DroboFS/Shares/DroboApps/btsync/service.sh startHope this helps
  15. Gnaa.. there ya go: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/30285-webgui-folder-column-full-path-of-the-share/
  16. I would like to see, even as an option would fit me perfectly, the possibility to change to view of the name of my share from the compact one to one where I can see the full path to it's directory. I handle quite a few Shares where I name them the same. I have 5 "temp" shares but the all point to diffrent peers. And if I have to hover over all of them or guess the size the share could have to find the one I'm looking for.. it kind of makes me cringe every time. So how does that sound to you?
  17. Every column, wether it's in the WebGUI or the clients should be able to have the functionality to sort the share or what so ever after the content it contains. Share -> A-Z Size -> ASC or DESC Status -> last synced oldest top or newest top and so on
  18. Ahhh! Sweet yeah +1 on this one
  19. And why can't I see the full paths in the WebGUI? In the last version it was a "bug"?! that they sometimes disappeared but now I have to hover over every one of them to see where the files are located :/
  20. Nah. Then BitTorrent Sync would have to let other shares know what client type it is and maybe some people don't want that information published
  21. Maybe it's a bug or they are still working on it although I'd love to see this implemented someday!
  22. The Rpi works exactly how I wanted to work. I run Transmission and BTSync on it and I have an external 1.5TB HDD connected. Yeah sure the cpu power isn't that high and it takes long to hash files for the first time but for files up to 10 MB it works like a charm (Photos, large word documents, PDFs)
  23. GUYS GUYS...! What about.. if you have a camera attached to your computer or maybe it's built in, you could add folders by holding your phone with the QR Code in front of the camera and scan it? I'm always struggeling to share secrets via mail but there isn't a comfortable way of sharing secrets from your phone to a PC for example when you're at your friends house or something.. Maybe.. you could send one time secrets via mail so I could make sure nobody else is hooking up without me wanting it (change the secret all over again..) /e Or what about this: A functionality of BTS so listen to the network if there is a broadcast message from a mobile device (the bts app running) wanting to share a secret with the client itself. I imagine something like AirDrop from Apple. On the PC client you then could accept or deny the request by the mobile device for sharing a secret with you. When you accept it, the "Add Share" windows pops up with the secret already filled in and you just have to select a folder.
  24. Thanks for stopping by and telling us. Since there is no real feedback from the Team about what they like as an idea it is hard to know if the suggestions are being processed by the team. But your response proves that you care - "we' good" ;-)
