  1. stop btsync and just delete the file. or if you want to send it to the devs. rename it and compress itdon't paste it in the forum
  2. It will drain battery yes. But even if the android is RO and there is another client that is ENC, the android will encrypt the file before sending it. So it is not a good idea. But to have android as ENC wouldn't slow down. But that wouldn't be very useful...
  3. Remember, most non intel or amd cpus doesn't support hardware encryption and will be under heavy load if they're on a RO or RW where there's a ENC key involved.
  4. Selective sync would be that you could add a folder larger than your tablets hard drive. And you choose which of the files inside you want to sync when you want them. But that is not for Windows yet. So for now. Make sure the folder isn't too big. Too bad about the virus warning. I guess you have to trust them, and if you download it from bittorrent.com you can relax.
  5. That is the GFW changing the IP like a man in the middle. Take a closer look at /etc/hosts because it overrides dns servers. The problem must be there
  6. Yes! But atm there's no selective sync for the Windows client. So you have to make sure the folder isn't bigger than the storage on the tablet. There is versioning. Per default files are stored in a hidden folder called .SyncHistory for 30 days and files 1GB or smaller. (this you can change to whatever suits you) Download BTSync and try it out, it's really easy to get started.
  7. I didn't see this before. Try using a newer version on your RPi, go to the dir with btsync: wget http://syncapp.bittorrent.com/1.2.92/btsync_arm-1.2.92.tar.gz pkil btsync tar -zxvf 1.2.92/btsync_arm-1.2.92.tar.gz ./btsync
  8. The IP you get isn't one of the the trackers IPs. Maybe RomanZ can confirm this. What does the log say when you add the pre defined host?
  9. I will answer this one. You should only give the R/W key to trusted people. give the Read-Only key to people who you can't trust or are like wild cats on the keyboard. There is no way to change the R/W code by sending a command. If it were, it would be useless, as the rouge person could do that too, probably before you. So now you need to generate a new R/W key and change it manually on all the R/W nodes. Then you need to give the new RO key to the RO nodes, as the old one won't work anymore. You can look in .SyncHistory for recently deleted(30days) files up to 1GB per default on all systems except for iOS and Android (I think).
  10. This is interesting. I assume the RPi gets it IP from the routers DHCP server? What does arp -a say? Is your router in the list? Output of iptables -L Can you access the internet from the RPi? I'm sure you can, but I have to ask. I sent you a PM about adding an external share with pre-defined host. (just to see if it works) Not sure what "failed to get tracker ips really means". It can't resolve? Did you add all 3 ips in /etc/hosts? 54.225.92.50 t.usyncapp.com54.225.196.38 t.usyncapp.com54.225.100.8 t.usyncapp.com I am out of ideas for now.
  11. Might it be your RPi firewall dropping all packets that's not local? Shouldn't the drop rule be last?
  12. I didn't finish reading everything. But it seems like you didn't try or research anything yourself. And this is supposed to be your job.
  13. create a file in your .sync folder (where the sync.log file is) called debug.txt and inside it on one line write FFFF. (not sure if needed, but restart BTSync just to be on the safe side) And the log will hopefully give you more information on what's going on. So the RPi can connect to your windows box within a minute? Is your windows box connected to any other devices (using the same secret as the RPi) From my understanding is that Windows should tell your RPi about the other clients and the clients about your RPi. Are you sure your firewall is forwarding the ports? Try running a simple service on them with BTS off, and connect to it from the outside. Also try again with UPnP enabled on your router.
  14. Is UPnP enabled on the router? Where is the device that's out in the world located? Try adding the other 2 tracker IPs in your hosts file too. I am also in China and often the connection gets "dropped". How long did you wait? (In a case I was monitoring it took 17minutes).
  15. If t.usyncapp.com resolves to the wrong IP, it doesn't matter if you can ping it or not. But my experience with GFW is that IPs are blocked, either permanently or for a short time (like searching for aomething with a trigger on google)
  16. The website doesn't work, at least not in China. You should add a few mirrors.
  17. That would be great. If i would like to do a quick drag and drop copy somewhere, like skype/ usb-key (i wouldn't have to copy and then remove the btsync related files)
  18. Regret or not. Buy both, affordable and good to play around with. Maybe you can compare them and write a nice review/guide on how you did.
  19. Where do you live? What does t.usyncapp.com resolve to?
  20. Both sites are working. And now also syncapp.bittorrent.com. Solved for now!
  21. RomanZ: It resolves normally, wasn't the issue in this case
  22. I think that question answered itself. The API will for obvious reasons only work with the client. The client isn't open source, so it will be mighty hard trying to port it.
  23. It is per share and not folder. That's is my experience at least.
