Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but wanted to comment that I am still having this problem. I can confirm that is is downloading the files and not just the folder structure (as I'm testing with only text files to be sure it works).

Sorry for the long reply, but yes, I am using both the latest version of the desktop client and android client. I just checked to see if unchecking automatic sync would stop the download to no avail. It keeps downloading no matter what. Please let me know if a logcat is necessary. I've already submitted one through the ticketing system. Thanks

I'm having this exact same problem, any help would be great. I just installed the android app on my galaxy note 2 running a custom AOSP ROM 4.3.1.
