  1. dearnold, Here's the instruction for full debug logs. Send them to syncapp@bittorrent.com and put link to this topic to your message. Do you sync only one folder between NASes? So, you add a folder to Sync on NAS1, it reports 11 GB, though the folder itself is 59 Gb. Then you have it synced to NAS2, Sync on NAS2 reports 53 GB, though the folder itself (in a file manager, let us say) is 57 Gb?
  2. laurens, yes, this behavior will be optimized in 1.4. still needs testing, though.
  3. kamenlee If Microsoft User Data and .Trash are in the root of sync folder (that which you add to Sync) the entries will be the following: For Microsoft User Data: Microsoft User Data For.Trash: .Trash If they are not in the root, then you will need to write the path to them: subfoldername/another subfoldername/.Trash After that re-add the folder to BitTorrent Sync on both peers, so that changes in .SyncIgnore are taken into account.
  4. 4195c50c-11b8, Go to backup in BitTorrent Sync on Android, tap "add folder", choose the folder where camera stores photos (usually its DCIM), share the secret with PC and have the photos uploaded. If you want to backup another folder, jus add it to backup page and share the secret to it with your PC. YEs, the secret from another folder folder will be different from that of previously added folder.
  5. SpencerH, try reinstalling Sync on the problematic RPI. if it crashes, describe the step at which it crashes and write to syncapp@bittorrent.com including link to this topic into the message. I'll give you further instructions there. Thanks.
  6. j_s, One thing: when you were re-adding the folders, was AppData already present on 2nd remote PC? Is AppData only causing the problem, or other ignored subfolders also appear on the sync queue and on the destination PC? Please, send full debug logs (as Roman suggested) to syncapp@bittorrent.com with reference to this topic. Thanks.
  7. furtim, without Sync running PC goes to sleep as configured? Does Sync transfers anything when it prevents Win from sleeping? Try setting folder rescan interval in advanced settings to over 30 minutes (mind that the rescan parameter itself is configured in seconds) and restart Sync .
  8. zbarriver, is the network itself connected all the time? Is it LAN or not? Also, see if anyone else is using the listening port of Sync (for example, sudo netstat -tulpn | grep listening port).
  9. jeffrey.rodgers, 1) on CentOS check who owns .sync folder (near binary) and files in it - it should be owned by user who runs BitTorrent Sync. 2) open sync queue on the uploading peer (what is its OS?) and see which files are stuck, make sure they are available for BitTorrent Sync 3) try re-adding the folder (or just stuck files that you see in queue) to BitTorrent Sync on the uploading peer. 4) as for sync log: debug.txt should contain "FFFF" and this file itself is not the log, so it will remain with those FFFF. The log is recorded to sync.log and sync.log old files in .sync directory. Please, send full debug logs to syncapp@bittorrent.com. In the message put the link to this topic. Thanks.
  10. acurcione, Do you see these errors in unRaid syslog? do xattrs stuck in Sync UI as well (as screened in your first post)? To be short: shfs (Share file system) does not support extended attributes on unRaid older than 5.0b10. Please collect full debug logs from both peers, and send them to syncapp@bittorrent.com. In the message, include the following details: 1) link to this forum topic, 2) which unRaid OS version you have. 3) how exactly you use iTunes on your setup: where is it running, where is it storing its db, etc
  11. chicagonyc, This issue is known and it happens when there is an offline peer that is reconnected after a period of time and especially if some files are touched on it before starting Sync. the thing is on starting BitTorrent Sync it detects the latest version of file by change time (not "modified time") when it turns on, change time of the file equals to the start time. So it's considered to be the latest and propagated to other peers. We are working on resolving this issue. So far, please do not touch files on the peer where BitTorrent Sync is off.
  12. Aries, Could you please share solution with the rest? thanks.
  13. @crittle1, Same guessing - do you have that confirmation windows in BitTorrent Sync enabled? It may block the PC from shutting down. As for MySQL crash, BitTorrent Sync doesn't interact with other apps unless they share the same directory, which is not your case. So in this case, I would recommend addressing to MySQL support for crash analysis.
  14. Säätäjä, if its DCIM from internal SD card, try just re-adding the folder to Sync again and share the new secret with your PCs. If its DCIM from external SD card, it will not sync because BitTorrent Sync doesn't have rights to write its .SyncIgnore and SyncID to it (KitKat limits). I suppose you've started this backup before you had 4.4. on your phone? In this case there are two options: either use internal SD card or move the folder with photos to ~ Android/data/com.bittorrent.sync on external card. BItTorrent Sync backup will be adjusted for KitKat in future release.
  15. Nycolay, Actually no. The most vital recommendation here would be "make the folder accessible for BitTorrent Sync". Under accessible I mean its path parsible and permissions to use files granted. Yes, apart from granting permission to access the syncing folder itself (of course, including all the files in it), you need to check permissions of local storage of BitTorrent Sync. Make sure that folder .sync (located near btsync binary) or the storage specified by you (if you use config) and *all* files in it are owned by the user under which you launch BitTorrent Sync. There are multiple reasons for that. If it's not permissions (described above),then I'll need logs for analysis. Put this forum link to the message, attash the logs and send it all to syncapp@bittorrent.com
  16. @abeNdorg, 1) try also disabling "lan_encrypt_data" in advanced settings. don't forget to restart BitTorrent Sync after editing advances settings. 2) use predefined hosts. open folder settings (in BitTorrent Sync) and enable "Predefined hosts" on tab "Properties". Put IP:port of the other device there.
  17. @teamcoltra, Collect full debug logs from all three peers and send them to syncapp@bittorrent.com. In the message put link to this forum topic. Also, I'd appreciate it if you somehow indicated which log belongs to master and which - to each of the slaves (www and backup folder owners). Thanks!
  18. @Executor, Go to TrueCrypt settings and uncheck "Preserve modification timestamp of file containers".
  19. @datroubler, Ok, in regedit go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\and create string value BitTorrentSync with "C:\path where you store binary\BitTorrent Sync\BTSync.exe" /MINIMIZED If it doesn't help, reinstall BitTorrent Sync.
  20. @datroubler, yes, that's weird. I have a few questions: 1) is there BitTorrent Sync's icon in Notification area? 2) do other peers see Win8.1 machine as a connected peer when the pc in launched? 3) is BitTorrent Sync process running (in task manager) - on tab "prozesse"?
  21. @sommersethdesign, If it takes a while for indexing on start, it's pretty normal taking into account the amount of files and their total size. If it takes more than a while (how long exactly?), it's not that OK. As for .!sync, there are multiple reasons for it, most of each will sum up in 'files not accessible or changed during syncing". And it's solved by recreating the share with new secret. Remove folder from Sync, delete those temp .!sync files (make sure you have the full files at your disposal) and add the folder again to Sync. To get a more specified analysis, please write to syncapp@bittorrent.com with full debug logs from both (!) Macs. Make linked reference to this topic in your message. Thank you.
  22. @acurcione, Yes, these are xattrs. syncing of them was enabled in BitTorrent Sync v 1.3. Try another way to exclude them form syncing: manually add them to .SyncIgnore file on both peers. .SyncIgnore is a hidden file in each synced folder, so make sure your folder settings allow you to see hidden items. Open .SyncIgnore with any text editor and add the following lines there: *com.apple.FinderInfo *com.apple.metadata:_kMDItemUserTags *com.apple.ResourceFork
  23. @gbh2015, You mean that on opening BitTorrent Sync it starts with Backup page? This is just the start page of the app. Just ignore it.
  24. @mcit, it looks like the folder where Sync is installed does not roam with user to server. Also you will need to grant full access permissions to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu folder since Sync puts its shortcut there.
  25. Sorry, no EToA It will be there as soon as it becomes possible.
