It would be great if BTSync could inform other peers that this file is open and should not be touched in order to avoid issues with two users working in the same file at the same time.

hi, yes, that would be a great feature. I had thought I read that when a file is open a copy of the file is created in it's folder with an extension that let's others know it is in use - like InDesign and other adobe apps do, it's a temporary file that starts with ~

thank you - is it possible to tell if someone else has the file open already? from reading through some of the faqs I thought I might have seen that this is the case.

Can anyone tell me what happens if/when people in different locations who share a file work on the file at the same time? I am thinking to move to BTSync from dropbox as we have had many issues with this scenario. thank you.
