So, I upgraded all my clients to 1.4 and it seems to have solved the issue. If I'm just too early I'll post here, but as far as I can tell so far so good.

I also have this problem, and I'm unable to locate any .!sync files. My devices that are syncing are running os x and ubuntu. Any solutions or ideas?

Any word on a solution to this? I'm running btsync on an Ubuntu 12.04 box and if it's uploading data it really slams DNS lookups for my whole network.
