Yes, every node syncs with every node.

The port that needs to be open/forwarded is the one you set in the config. I don't know if UDP or TCP (I forwarded both).
If you "firewalled" your device itself you may need to open additional ports for local sync/discovery.

BTSync will automatically connect locally, if it finds the other node in local network. Afaik it always tries local at first (if enabled) and after that it uses tracker/DHT (if enabled).
I think the only way to see if the transfer is local, is by speed. As local transfer will be much faster than over internet.

You can disable the archive in the folder settings.
I deleted the folder several times before without causing problems.

The Camera Backup is a special folder, which works in the way you described. As far as I know this cannot be changed.
But you can add your Camera/DCIM folder manually, instead of using the special camera backup. Then it will be r/w (more precisely owner).
You currently cannot change permissions when sharing folders between your own devices linked in the same identity. I you share a folder, every device linked to your identity will automatically have owner permissions.

If you share the folder r/w, you can copy the files into the folder previous to adding it to btsync.
btsync will scan the folder an see, that the files are already there.

At least in the Linux version you can still do that with 1.4 folders.
If you enable the option to show "copy keys" in advanced settings, you can copy the keys from the menu of a folder and see the keys in the details of a folder.
To add a 1.4 folder in V2 you have to press the shift key while clicking "add folder".

You will need to run btsync twice on that computer.
One which is sharing the original e-mail folder, and one that is "receiving" the sync to save it on the other drive.
I don't really know how to do it in windows though.
As you probably want to local "sync" to be one way only, I would do that with robocopy, which is a windows internal tool to copy/mirror a folder to another. It would be like "robocopy <SOURCE> <DESTINATION> /MIR". This can be started as a regular scheduled job or you can use a combination of /MON:n and /MOT:n where n is the amount of changed files / elapsed time for a resync and have it in your windows startup.

If you use the same identity for every computer and NAS to have only one pro subscription, every device in your business will be the owner of every folder that is shared.
If you plan to have different users, which should only have access to their folder(s), you will need a separate identity for every user, and a separate pro subscription.

The automatic folder sharing between devices of the same identity is a feature of "My Devices" and only available in pro version.
You can disable the automatic adding to a device in the device details in My devices, so that the folders are disabled (gray) by default. Maybe you did that for the one device?
As far as I know there is no difference how you add a folder. If it's the same identity the folder should have the same permission (r/w, r/p, owner) as all your other devices.

That question was kind of asked in another thread before.
The answer was, that if you configure your shares inside the config file, you can only share v1.4 folders with keys, not the new v2 folders with certificates.
So you will have to use v1.4 folders for that on every device.
To add a v1.4 folder in btsync 2.0 you have hold down Shift while clicking the add folder button.

You can have up to 10 shared folders with the free version of Sync 2.0, no matter how much folders and files are inside that folders.
Only the explicitly shared will count.

How should btsync on your PC know which Photo belongs to the DCIM/Facebook on your Android and which to Pictures/Facebook?
If you want to keep the photos separate on Android I would suggest you create a photos folder on your PC with two subfolders DCIM and Pictures, which will be synced separately with btsync.
I you want to get all Facebook Photos into one folder, you could sync he DCIM/Facebook into a separate folder on your PC and create a scheduled task or whatever, which moves the photos from that folder to the synced pictures folder. This will then delete the photos from DCIM/Facebook on your phone an recreate them in Pictures/Facebook.

I shared a folder from my linux client and for some reason only got the approval request on that device.
When I shared the folder from my Android phone, I got the approval request on all devices of my identity (1x Linux, 2x Android).
So it seems that the share link is bound to the identity and not the one device alone.
So before reinstalling your OS make sure to have at least one other device linked to the same identity.
p.s. btsync on Android has three share options: r/o, r/w and owner

Will User C get nothing till User A is online, or will he/she get all files except the ones that were changed/added?

I just tested this.
Every owner peer can give access.
The peer who created the share link will have to approve the new peer, no matter if it is the original owner or not.

At least in Pro (Trial) it seems to be as such:
- The owner is the identity, so every device with your identity is the owner of your folders (or whatever permission was given to you by the owner, if you did not originally share the folder)
- You can change the permission per folder per foreign identity. In the peer list of a shared folder, you can reassign the permission for the foreign identities you shared the folder with. There you can select read-only, read/write or owner.
After the Trial we will see if every device of your identity is still automatically the owner, as the "my devices" is a pro feature.
Furthermore will they have to add an option to share a folder directly as owner, as the free version cannot change the permissions afterwards.
If btsync will not be changed to share a folder directly as owner instead of read-only or read/write, I presume that most free users will keep using V1.4 folders, as the read/write key is also the owner key.

To stay on 1.4, you need to remove the current PPA and add another.
I updated to 2.0 a while ago by replacing the btsync-core in /usr/lib/btsync-common/.
This file is just the normal btsync binary, so you can replace it with the binary from the download page.

The default setting for a shared folder is to archive changed/deleted files. And the default lifetime inside the archive is 30 days.
So you can retrieve deleted file from <shared folder>/.sync/archive.
Mobile devices don't have an archive, so to be able to use that feature, you need at least another Desktop/Laptop.
The changes/deletions are archived by the other devices, not by the one making the changes.

I am currently using a bind mount point and is it synced correctly.
My first try did not work, but after one or two restarts of the btsync daemon it worked.

I also have had this problem since the beginning.
Sometimes when I delete a file on my Linux server, the file is moved to archive on my android device, but most of the times it's not.

You can transfer the files in advance, if you share it as read/write. I already did this a view times (with 1.4).
But in 2.0 there have been some changes to the was folders are added, e.g. in Android the folder where the shared data will be put in must not exist when adding it to btsync. It was possible in 1.4. Unfortunately the is no message whatsoever when you try to use an already existing folder and the folder is not added.
I had to
- rename the already existing folder
- add the new shared folder in btsync
- uncheck the "sync all" setting in the folder details
- move the data to the intended folder, which was created by btsync
- recheck the "sync all" setting in the folder details
The linux version does not have that problem.

I use a btsync instance on my home server as kind of a relay.
Every client that cannot connect directly to another will always be able to connect to that server and sync with it and it will than sync with the other device.
Unfortunately you cannot disable relay server nor enter known hosts inside the android app, that would make it more private/secure.

The only way I found to remove a device ist on the device itself.
Inside the "My devices" list you can remove the current device.
As you already removed sync on the device, this would not work anymore. Perhaps reinstall sync, reconnect it to your identity and hope that it will reuse the old device entry, instead of duplicating it.
If you don't plan to use Pro, you can also wait the 30 days, as the My devices only works with Pro.

Currently, if you use the same identity on both peers, both will have owner permissions and you cannot set one of them to read only.
