Anh Huynh replied to Anh Huynh's topic in Sync Troubleshooting
Hi Helen, I tried the advanced mode. I also tried to follow this article https://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/209643433-SD-card-gimmicks-on-Android-. I only got error "permission denied" or "can't open the destinatin folder". Thanks, -

Resilio 24: how to update secret keys ?
Anh Huynh replied to Anh Huynh's topic in Sync General Discussion
Thanks a lot, @Moe. -
in the previous verions there're options to update secret keys of shared folders. I can't see this feature in the latest version of RS (tested on PC version). Is this feature disabled or is there any requirement/trick? Thanks,

I haven't tried version 2.x at hom. I will try if version 2.x can be supported by my tool (https://github.com/icy/cnystb).

There are also Alpine-based images , but this is not for Alpine fans, as the images are based on Slitaz linux. The result images are quite small (24MB for the latest version 2.4.1). See image attached. Disclaimer: These images are 32-bit versions because my base image `icymatter/slitaz40-minimal` is an 32-bit image) Images on Dockerhub: (https://hub.docker.com/u/icymatter/) * 1.3: icymatter/slitaz40-btsync13 * 1.4: icymatter/slitaz40-btsync14 * 2.4: icymatter/slitaz40-btsync24 Hope this helps

10 folders limit. ok I quit. It's time to make btsync network more available for their paid users. Let's go syncthing.

[Solved] Btsync:// Protocol Not Available
Anh Huynh replied to MerceanCoconut's topic in Sync Troubleshooting
That's good. But how can you use that on .... Linux? -
Not complete actually. you can use "folder_rescan_interval" from config files, and folder settings still come from web UI.
-
here is an example { "device_name": "example.net", "listening_port" : 1234, // 0 - randomize port /* storage_path dir contains auxilliary app files if no storage_path field: .sync dir created in the directory where binary is located. otherwise user-defined directory will be used */ "storage_path" : "/home/btsync/data/", "folder_rescan_interval": 300,}To start the daemon, use /home/btsync/bin/btsync --config /path/to/btsync.confI use supervisor to monitor btsync process. So I start with /home/btsync/bin/btsync --config /path/to/btsync.conf --nodaemonbecause supervisor already has daemon support.

it's not about the speed; it's about to have two-way synchronization for the "Camera backup" folder on Android phone. And that really makes the "backup folder" to work as normal sync.

Are You Still Using Btsync 1.3.xx?
Anh Huynh replied to Journeyman's topic in Sync General Discussion
+1 . I am still on 1.3. Moreover, 1.4 is not available on some old devices (sony xperia x8). The bad news is that after upgrading 1.3 -> 1.4, I can't go back. I did that once and I was so disappointed. Forcing 1.4 -> 1.3 will cause btsync go into an infinite loop lolz -
On android, you can export btsync configuration to a .zip file. Then open the .zip file, locate the file "sync.dat". It's in bencode format, and you can read it, for example ruby -rbencode -e 'ARGV.each {|f| a = File::bdecode(f); puts a }' -- .sync/sync.dat [/code otherwise, use a hexeditor. The key is to locate the "READ-WRITE" key of the backup folder. After you get the key, go and set up a two ways synchronization between your smart-phones and your PCs. And forget the noisy backup feature

I disable all "autosync" for 3 shared folders on my android phone (zenfone A450). btsync still uses 10% of battery, twice as firefox (4%) and 1/3 of screen (37%). So I remove #btsync from my android....

New android version is a battery killer.

New methods * `os/dir/create`: create a directory on remote system _(dangerous!)_ * `folder/create`: create new share folder * `folder/host/get`: return list of known hosts of a shared folder * `key/onetime/get`: return a on-time key for a shared folder

btsync uses the same domain http://config.usyncapp.com/ for both things (1) get a list of tracker/relays (2) report some user's information
