  1. that would make sense if it was enabled on my router and on BT Sync, but I assure you it is not on both. Does it have something to do with maybe using a tracker server in btsync ? just want to understand what is happening.
  2. I tried this with no ports open on my router and it works. But my confusion is how does it do this ? I have the server running on a qnap device. I assume it is using the torrent network?
  3. Thanks, what puzzles me though is that I have not put my dynamic DNS hostname with the port anywhere in my configuration in my mobile app, so how does the app know to connect to my host and port? I opened the port and it works but just wondering where the information is for my Isp hostname
  4. Just curious if I need to open a port on my routerif I want to use this outside of my home lan
  5. It should be at this path /share/MD1_DATA/.qpkg/BitTorrentSync/ file is called btsync.conf
  6. Thanks GreatMarko, I looked at my btsync.conf file and when I tried to change the the listen setting, that seemed to affect the web interface, and not the application listening port itself. So I had to add the line in the first section (in red) for "listening_port" : xxxxx, with no quotes around the port number. I also changed the use_upnp setting to false not sure if that would cause the port to randomly change. { "check_for_updates" : true, "display_new_version": false, "use_upnp" : false, "listening_port" : xxxxx, "webui" : { "listen" : "0.0.0.0:14859", "allow_empty_password" : false, "directory_root" : "/share" }}
  7. Hi, Just upgraded btitorrent sync on my Qnap 469L nas and I noticed that when I go to preference ans set a listening port, it seems to randomly change when I access that page again. Anyone else notice this? I have that specific port open on my router in order to use bT sync from remote locations.
