  1. I am on a journey, on a journey to my perfect personal backup configuration. I've already used many different software, the last one was Synology's Cloudstation. I know it's not a typical backup-solution, but for me it worked more or less perfect. In the end unfortunately less, because it couldn't handle a lot of files, I wanted to sync two folders showing up a size about 600GB. The sync-speed in the LAN was painfully slow and at the moment there is a "big" issue wasting a lot of free diskspace, because of doubling every file and creating up to 32 versions. Enabling jumbo frames can improve the speed a bit, presupposed the switch supports it. Well, I made a research and found out that there is an awesome new tool called BitTorrent, so I installed the community package 1.4.83-8 on my Synology DS and the latest 1.4.99 BT-Sync-Software for Windows 8. At first it seemed quite perfect, but when checking the LAN-Sync-Speed it was a pain in the ass. The copy speed is never more than 5-6MB/sec. When copying files directly the speed is about 50-70MB/sec. So I was really disappointed and changed all options, I disabled jumbo-frames, I turned the encryption on and off and so on, but the result was every time the same. I also used the predefined hosts option, but with no success. Well, now I would like to know from you "community", is this a known bug that the LAN-Sync doesnt sync correctly or rather it doesnt use the full speed? BTW How can I check, if it does sync via the internet and does it spread my IP? Will this issues be solved soon or will this exist for quite a while? Are there any solutions? I want to know this, My wishes for improving BitTorrent would be: - more control/options especially for private LAN Syncing - full copying-speed - more stabilty, but I am sure this will come soon? (I copied one folder into a sync-folder, the windows-copying-process started, it was a quite large folder, then the Bittorrent-sync started. Before the sync-process was finished, I wanted fo figure out the behavior if I try to erase this folder in the source-sync-folder and the result was that Bittorrent was blocking the access for deleting this folder, so I had to wait until all files were synced, finally after that it was again possible to delete the folder, but I would like to see more control for canceling already started sync-processes. just my two cents and if you have a solution for the LAN-Speed-issue I would appreciate to read it here...
