  1. Hi Thanks for the reply. Current settings are: I have Auto-sleep On. I have Go to sleep if no active transfers enabled.Set activity checks every 4 hours I have Sync when charging enabled. On charging activity checks every 15 minutes. I have the excessive battery use with these settings. Chris
  2. I have btsync on an android phone. The sync program is using a large amount of the battery and the phone was very hot. I shut down btsync and then the phone cooled down. How can I keep the battery use down? Can I set btsync to ONLY work when the phone is being charged? Chris
  3. I would like to be able to have web access to each node from any web browser. I would then should be able to browse and the folders/files and view or download files. This would be like Dropbox. For the nodes running on Linux I can access the btsync service, but NOT the files directly. On the Windows node, I cannot access the btsync service or the files externally . Adding external web access to the files on all platforms would be a great improvement. Chris
  4. I would like to see this feature on both Windows and Linux (arm) Chris
  5. I also would like the ability to access the files on any of my hosts from outside the host network. As BTSYNC has/can have a web interface, it would be great if there was a built in file manager. Chris
  6. I just upgraded a Windows 10 PC with 2.3.5 from .2.3.3 and I found all folders disconnected. I did manage to reconnect all folders again after some problems, but I did received some good help from support staff. Chris
  7. Ok, but is there any way of downloading the existing configuration to a file so that I just add" listen to any interface on the LAN" without writing a configuration from scratch? Chris
  8. I can access BTSync over the net on each of my Linux nodes. I can access the Windows node Wen Interface with "BitTorrent Sync\BTSync.exe" /webui but it is only internally. How can I access the Web interface on a Windows PC externally? Chris
  9. I would like to be able to access the files on each/any of the nodes in my BTSync network. Currently I cannot access my PC from the net, while my linux box, I have added a web based file manager. I would like to have a File Manager integrated into the Web GUI, so that files can be moved, copied downloaded etc from any of the nodes. The interface would then be consistent over all types of nodes and readily accessible over the internet via the same web interface and associated port. It would be great if a File Manager was integrated into BTSync Is there any file manager around that could access the files on any of the nodes? Chris
  10. As I indicated all the Windows PC and linux (raspberry pi) are on free version. I can understand that the "My devices" feature may not be available for the free version, but I did select the peers and the program was trying to connect. It would be useful to have a message the "This feature is only available in the Pro version" Chris
  11. I am running BTSync9 (Free ver 2.1.3) on 2 windows PC, one linux (Raspberry Pi) all connecting and working as expected. I had had a Motorola Razr M connected and working well. The phone is running Cyanogenmod Android version 4.4.4. I had to reload the operating system on the Motorola and reload BTSync. Now I have linked the Motorola to back up the camera files on the External SD card. I selected two peers on the device list and I get message that both peers are "connecting" but no connection occurs and no files are backed up. I then tried to add a "backup" of the same folder with same effect. I tried deleting all the files except one and still will not connect. Finally I managed to get the Motorola linked and working. Instead of selecting existing devices to connect to, I used the share button and emailed the link. This then worked on all 3 devices. It is now working, but NOT from the the device list option Chris
  12. I just downloaded the 64 bit version BitTorrent-Sync_x64.exe and installed it. The program at Preferences/Advanced states version: 2.0.1125 (32) Is it 32 bit or 64 bit? Chris
  13. I found another script btsync_edit_settings_w4.py btsync_edit_settings_w4.py from http://syncapp.bittorrent.com/support/script/btsync_edit_settings_w4.py which did seem to work! Chris
  14. Can someone confirm that I can increase the time old versions on Linux (arm) by increasing sync_trash_ttl parameter? Can this be done using btsync_edit_settings.py? If so, I would like to see the steps required. I tried to use sudo python btsync_edit_settings.py settings.dat set sync_trash_ttl 300 on a copy of settings.dat with no success. I get messages as followsTraceback (most recent call last): File "btsync_edit_settings.py", line 238, in <module> encoded_content = bencode(bdict) File "btsync_edit_settings.py", line 144, in bencode return _encode_dictionary(input) File "btsync_edit_settings.py", line 16, in _encode_dictionary result += bencode(key)+bencode(value) File "btsync_edit_settings.py", line 150, in bencode raise ValueError('Invalid field type: %r' % itype)ValueError: Invalid field type: <type 'long'> Chris I forgot to mention I tried to read existing value for sync_trash_ttl using sudo python btsync_edit_settings.py settings.dat get sync_trash_ttl Message came backParameter "sync_trash_ttl" doens't exists in bencoded file settings.dat Chris
  15. For some reason the operating system on the Raspberry Pi became corrupted and I did have to reinstall the operating system again. This time everything worked except for one point. In my list of devices I now have 3 raspberry pis listed; the one now working and 2 from the previous system. I can see no way of removing not existing, non functioning devices! Regards Chris
  16. I had upgrade from version 1.4. It was not straightforward, even thought I would say I was computer literate. I had to remove all folders and then add them again. I could not seem to move the folders. It was easier to remove them all and then readd them. I could not see any toher way than manual connection. In the end I rename the folders on the Raspberry , add the folders from the PC, pause the sync and then move all the files from the renamed folder. This did work. For some reason the operating system on the Raspberry Pi became corrupted. So I will now reinstall everything and see if it easier/better this time! Chris
  17. I have btsync running on 2 Windows 7 PC and a Raspberry Pi. It was working. I upgraded all to version 2.0.85. I had to remove all files and re-add them to get correct folder locations. One Windows 7 PC was used as main PC. I then linked the Windows 7 & Raspberry Pi. On Windows 7 PC I could use Manual Connection to sync folders in correct position. On Raspberry Pi, I managed to sync 2 folders. Now when on the Raspberry Pi I was trying to add a"Manual connection" using a link from my Windows PC. The program offers a default folder location. I set it to a existing location . I get message that destination folder is not empty. I confirm that this is OK. The dialog box disappears then appears again. This happens continuously. I cannot add the folder. This is the same for all folders I attempt to add. I can use "manual connection" for a folder that does NOT exist on the Raspberry Pi. How can I overcome this problem? Chris
  18. The problem of getting the Raspberry Pi linked fixed itself. No idea why! Thank you for the idea of "--webui.listen 0.0.0.0:8888"; that is useful. Now I have another problem. On the Raspberry Pi I was trying to add a"Manual connection" using a link from my Windows PC. The program offers a default folder location. I set it to a existing location . I get message that destination folder is not empty. I confirm that this is OK. The dilog box disappears then appears again. This happens continuously. I cannot add the folder. This is the same for all folders I attempt to add. How can I overcome this problem? Chris
  19. I would love to but I do not know how to get the JS console output from the Raspberry Pi Web Epiphany browser. Anyone have ideas? Chris
  20. I upgraded all my devices to version 2 from version 1.4. All going OK except ARM version on a Raspberry Pi. When starting the Web UI on the Raspberry Pi I get the Link Device dialog. I manually added the key and my other devices show the Raspberry Pi connected, but the Link devices screen will not go away. If I cancel, I can go back to the first Link device screen, BUT I cannot get back to the main Web UI. How do I tell the raspberry Pi that is already linked? Chris
  21. While this discusses moving a folder, can I move a USB hard disk. I have a computer with a usb connected hard disk with folders that are added, indexed and up to date. Can I then move the hard disk and and sync folders to another computer and NOT have them reindexed and downloaded again? Chris
