  1. Unfortunately Sync 2.* doesn't support Windows XP due to cryptographic libraries issues on this OS. Windows 7 or later is required for Sync 2.*.
  2. Just rename folder on your hard drive and Sync will track this and change name of this folder in it's UI. Names of files won't be changed.
  3. Hello and welcome to Sync community! Yes, you're right. The latest version of the app has the corresponding icon too. And the icon is in a peer list of a shared folder (there can be many peers and connection can be direct or relayed for each peer) as in old version of the app. If you don't see it - there is a direct connection among your peers: Actually it should track it. Can you try to use Sync as you wish and if there is an issue with switching back to Local/Direct when VPN is down - contact support to figure and fix it out?
  4. Hard to say what the reason is without debug logs from at least both peers (including the mentioned one). Can you please collect logs and then contact support directly to figure it out?
  5. Yep, Sync should track this change and resume synchronization with the new location on this peer.
  6. Yes he can sync if it's a shared key generated for a standard folder. But if you use advanced folders (Trial or Pro versions of the app) - you can check the box "All peers I invite must be approved by me" while generating a shared link and thus you can prevent connecting untrusted peers (by ensuring access for trusted peers only).
  7. Yes, we are aware of such feature request. It will be implemented in the future versions of the app, but no exact ETA.
  8. No, that isn't that reason. "the .sync folder has no "ID" file" - this is the reason of "can not identify the destination folder" issue. Looks like this file was removed by some reason. Now you can do the following: either copy this file into .sync from the corresponding shared folder on another peer or just remove this folder from Sync and re-add again (do the same on all other peers as well).
  9. If you use Sync with glibc2.3 library on a PC where you add files into a shared folder, you need to wait till re-scan is done because builds with glibc2.3 doesn't support notifications from OS about files changes. If it is not your use case - please contact support directly to find out what the problem is.
  10. No, Sync doesn't allow to share whole user folder on Windows. Just add and share every desired sub folder separately.
  11. Hi, You can only use different identities on each device and check the "New peer I invite must be approved by me" box in the share dialog while generating a shared link for every folder you would like to share. There are no other ways.
  12. Please contact support directly to troubleshoot the issue and find out the reason.
  13. There is the following workflow. Each user (person) has to have his own license seat you need to share with him. Additionally, every user can link unlimited number of his own devices to his identity (every user has different identity and different license (license ID) that makes his device activated). Thus, you have N users (including you as a "master" user i.e. a license owner), N license seats under your license and every user (you shared a license seat with) has desired number of his own devices linked to his identity and thus licensed.
  14. No, unfortunately Sync has no such options.
  15. Hello, There are two ways to track file changes in a shared folder: notifications from OS and re-scanning a shared folder. The first ways works immediately, but if there is an error in OS it may not work at all. The second way always works and it can be set up in Power User Preferences, the option is called "folder_rescan_interval" that's 600 sec by default.
  16. Hello, There is just synchronization speed limitation during scheduled sync time.
  17. Hi, Try to disable Tracker and Relay options for shared folders. Details are here. Also note, transfer speed cannot be higher than disk reading speed on a sending peer and writing speed on a receiving peer (so I advice you to check this out). General guides "How to improve transfer speed" are here and here. If you use WiFi connection please note: connection speed depends on usage of your WiFi channel by other routers.
  18. Hello, Unfortunately, you cannot rename a added folder in WinPhone.
  19. Dear Norbet78, Please pay your attention to the following articles: http://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/205457815 http://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/207152446 http://help.getsync.com/hc/en-us/articles/205451005
  20. You can see the IP addresses of all peers in the sync.log file (it's located inside the storage folder), for example: PD[AAB6] [5929]: Sending ping to "192.168.1.131:51826" PD[AAB6] [07D2]: Sending ping to "192.168.1.183:22594" PD[D61A] [07D2]: Sending ping to "192.168.1.283:56817" etc...
  21. It works for both types of folders in a Trial or Pro versions of the app.
