@SirKronosI'm not 100% certain how Finder detects and displays custom folder icons, (except for the Icon? file that appears in the folder directory), but you can try and whitelist this file in the .sync/IgnoreList or .sync/StreamsList if you're up to experimenting with it...

I suspect they'll advise us to use the predefined host option. I think they reserved the custom tracker server feature to enterprise users (Resilio Connect). I'm not sure how much of the original torrent code base or protocol they have changed, but a possible idea that may work (I haven't found the time to try yet) is to host a normal torrent tracker or something and then edit the hosts file of your computer to point the tracker that Resilio sync uses to your tracker? To the moderators, I apologise in advance if this is against some terms and conditions of this forum, I'll edit this message if it is. ;/ It'll be nice if they can offer the custom tracker server option to the personal advanced/pro version, it's not like we don't want to pay for it... Another option that may be more viable is to setup some sort of VPN that isn't blocked, or use OpenVPN through an unblocked port on your corporate's firewall.

The main issue is that if you are trying to sync your active user directory, sync also creates log files in their %APPDATA% or ~Library/Application Support folder. This can create an endless syncing loop. My personal advice to you is that you can set the .sync/IgnoreList to ignore this directory and other more active temporary files as most users are more concerned with not loosing the work they recently worked on and was not of the mind to make multiple backups rather than some configuration or customisation setting file. If they were tech savvy enough, you can use a specific whitelist option in IgnoreList by using ! before each specific folder you want. For example: ~Assuming you're using macOS # Ignore Resilio Sync Application Support Only # Library/Application\ Support/Resilio\ Sync/* # Ignore Library But Keep Some Specific Application # Library/* !Library/Application\ Support/[some folder name]

I appreciate the quick reply, but I know BTSync doesn't have cloud integration. The thing is, Baidu Pan has BitTorrent Protocol integration, as in, it can act as a torrent seeder. Considering that BitTorrent Sync is programmed by the same group that made the BitTorrent Protocol, I was wondering hypothetically wouldn't there be already built APIs that would let it theoretically work like a pre-defined host or something of similar nature? Especially considering that BitTorrent Sync supports trackers, or am I talking out of my depth here? ~As in it needs to be hard coded with specific BTSync API for it to work?

Heya everyone, I've been looking at file sharing solutions for my university batch of school mates as the university's IT infrastructure isn't the best. I've been trying to push for BTSync as the preferred method rather than ye o' USB transfers between friends, but it's a work in progress. All of my seniors tend to prefer Baidu Cloud/Baidu Pan which provides 2 TB free cloud hosting. The most interesting aspect of it is that it supports BitTorrent tracker files and can apparently act as a seeder and download torrents. The main issue about cloud hosting, I find, is upload speeds for files over several GBs. Hence, I was wondering if there is a possible solution at the moment, or potentially in the future, where a Baidu Pan can act like a device synced to a BTSync folder? Cheers,
