  1. Just noticed I hadn't updated my server's Sync for a while, tried the latest and got this big surprise too. "Resilio Sync Home 2.7 installation is not supported for Windows Servers" Been running This since it started as Bittorrent Sync between my home server and Home PC. I've paid for a pro AND a home license and this is what my money gets me, barred from updates lest I dump my very expensive server purchase. Did you ever get a resolution from Kos@resilio.com?
  2. Awesome! That did the trick, thank you. Had to start with a ' , ' on first line resulting in: , "folder_rescan_interval" : 800, "send_buf_size" : 512, "recv_buf_size" : 512, "sync_trash_ttl" : 14, "peer_expiration_days" : 3
  3. using the sample.conf to show what i have: { "device_name": "My Sync Device", // "listening_port" : 0, // 0 - randomize port /* storage_path dir contains auxilliary app files if no storage_path field: .sync dir created in current working directory */ // "storage_path" : "/home/user/.sync", /* set location of pid file */ // "pid_file" : "/var/run/rslsync/rslsync.pid", /* use UPnP for port mapping */ "use_upnp" : true, /* limits in kB/s. 0 - no limit */ "download_limit" : 0, "upload_limit" : 0, /* proxy configuration */ // "proxy_type" : "socks4", // Valid types: "socks4", "socks5", "http_connect". Any other value means no proxy // "proxy_addr" : "192.168.1.2", // IP address of proxy server. // "proxy_port" : 1080, // "proxy_auth" : false, // Use authentication for proxy. Note: only username/password for socks5 (RFC 1929) is supported, and it is not really secure // "proxy_username" : "user", // "proxy_password" : "password", /* directory_root path defines where the WebUI Folder browser starts (linux only). Default value is / */ // "directory_root" : "/home/user/MySharedFolders/", /* directory_root_policy defines how directory_root is used (linux only). Valid values are: "all" - accepts directory_root and its subdirectories for 'getdir' and 'adddir' actions "belowroot" - accepts directory_root's subdirectories for 'getdir' and 'adddir' actions, but denies attempts to use 'adddir' to create directories directly within directory_root Default value is "all". */ // "directory_root_policy" : "all", "webui" : { "listen" : "0.0.0.0:8888" // remove field to disable WebUI /* preset credentials. Info is available at "http://help.getsync.com/customer/portal/articles/1902048-sync-advanced-preferences--more-options" For example see folder_rescan_interval below */ //, "folder_rescan_interval" : "86400" "folder_rescan_interval" : "800", "send_buf_size" : "512", "recv_buf_size" : "512", "sync_trash_ttl" : "14", "peer_expiration_days" : "2" } This is what I have (bottom part for advanced options added to otherwise working config). I have tried many combinations now to no avail, "folder_rescan_interval" : "800" , "folder_rescan_interval" : "800" ,"folder_rescan_interval" : "800" "folder_rescan_interval" : "800", , "folder_rescan_interval" : "800", , "folder_rescan_interval" : "800" "folder_rescan_interval" : "800" ,"folder_rescan_interval" : "800"
  4. Hello, Was trying to add advanced options to sync.conf "folder_rescan_interval" : "800" "send_buf_size" : "512" "recv_buf_size" : "512" "sync_trash_ttl" : "14" "peer_expiration_days" : "3" but no matter how I put it in, the service will not start with those lines in. Even simply uncommenting the example will break it. Can anyone explain the proper way to add options into the sync.conf file? Thanks!
  5. I had this issue too once, Long Path Tool did not work for me. What did it was 7zip as administrator.
  6. Unfortunately it is not helping. When using 7-Zip it just brings up the windows generic delete which I am seeing that this issue is for files with a path >255 characters. EDIT: Thank you, seems the answer was to use Shift+Del to fully remove in 7-Zip as normal Del would try to move to Recycle Bin.
  7. Hello, I had a setup go wonky and it put an encrypted sync in the wrong drive. I stopped the folder sync from my system but it left all the folders/files behind and when I try to delete, I get "The folder contains items whose names are too long for the Recycle Bin." Is there some easy way to get rid of these? My method of rename folders to single character takes far too long and renaming utilities aren't working. The system is on Windows 2012 R2 installed as a service. The Service is stopped as I try to clean up. Thanks for any assistance.
  8. I have 1 mobile device and 2 PC. 1 Directory with 3 subfolders containing files. Titanium Backup creates backup files for Android devices (The files I sync) I relinked my phone by scanning the QR code from my PC and connected the folder since I have sync pro. As I stated, I checked the archive on both PC's and the files were not present. I was able to recover slightly corrupted versions of my files with recovery software. Question is, why is Sync removing things? This is far from the 1st time this has happened.
  9. Hello, I like to use sync to transfer backups from my phone to PC. Today, I backed up my phone with Titanium Backup and transferred everything over, reset my phone and when I put I relinked my phone everything was syncing fine when I checked if it was done my entire directory was gone. Other directories include were still there but all 8GB of all my data is now dumped. It wiped it off my 2 other devices and is not in the "archive" folder. Is there a way to get my data back or is Sync really this bad?
  10. So I was reading through some post and such about security and I'm not really concerned about BTSync's security but a thought occurred to me that I did not feel was addressed. What exactly stops someone from mass generating W/R keys then adding them in bulk to see if they catch anyone's shared folders? Like I realize its impossible or so to guess any given individual's folder but like game distributors like Steam will soft-ban and perma-ban accounts with too many invalid key redemptions to prevent people from typing random keys.
  11. If the files have a temp extension or a part of their name that is the same but different than completed files, you can add that to the ignorelist.
  12. they are subfolders of subfolders of the 'sync share' The logs have far too much sensitive information to share as I am syncing my entire storage drive but I noticed that the empty folders I mention are in the logs and it has all the files that used to be in them marked for removal. This is the logs on the NAS that has never had the files on them before in folder that has never been synced.
  13. Thanks for the response. I am not 100% sure of what you have asked but I have not seen any folders show in the Sync UI at all, it only ever shows the files. Currently, all systems are on 2.3.8 and I only shared the folders via a Read Only key.
  14. So I have had an occurrence. I've had long deleted folders being recreated with no files in them. I believe I confirmed this is Sync as I just put it on a new system and I am getting these folders that have been deleted for 8+ months showing up that do not exist on either of my other 2 systems. These folders are not on either old system nor are they in the "/.sync/archive/". They do not exist anywhere I can see yet they are being recreated. What can I do to stop this? Should I be concerned that my files/folders are being stored somewhere I do not control? I saw this semi-similar post but I don't feel it is the same. To specify my setup, I have sync on my Win10 PC to backup an entire drive (controlled by ignore list) to my Win2012 PC and just added a NAS. When I added the NAS, a ton of empty folders were created on the new NAS that do not exist on either PC (but did months ago) including locations that are in the ignore list that have never been synced. Setup: - Win10 R/W (Master) - Win2012 R/O - NAS R/O
  15. Hello, I am pretty OCD about what goes where on my PC and it drives me nuts that BTSync adds itself to the Favorites section of directory windows every startup. Is there any method to stopping this? I can handle advanced methods. Thanks in advance!
