  1. I can perhaps only contribute something based on my experience. I use around 60 portable programs whose operating data are usually managed in the same directory. I usually use these in restrictive environments, mostly in external companies that have strict firewall regulations. I continuously synchronize these directories on a server, which means that the current operating data, updates, etc. can always be uploaded and, if necessary, downloaded somewhere else in order to be able to work there as well. I don't do the whole thing with Resilio, but with a very well-known P2P competitor. I have never experienced data being deleted, except on purpose or by a virus scanner, which may and primarily deletes and isolates EXE files. Then your reaper.exe might also be known as such and deleted. In this respect I do not believe in a Resilio issue.
  2. No idea in this moment, since on my Synology´s is no problem about the packages. This forum is not so good supported from the Resilio Maintainer, in my opinion it would be good to open a ticket https://help.resilio.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=91563
  3. Is newest version installed? https://help.resilio.com/hc/en-us/articles/206178964-QNAP
  4. There are no known restrictions. Why you think so?
  5. Maybe is the best to open a ticket on Resilio support about such points.
  6. I think everyone is happy who thinks Resilio Sync is a good software. I'm sure those who have already migrated to other possibilities and are watching what happens are also happy. At this point, shorter update cycles are again desirable. In addition, the Android software, which is always conspicuous in the forum, is still on v2.6.3. Why v2.6.4 is indicated in Google Play, no one knows. In addition, a relatively current update date is always given there, currently 25.2.2022, whereas v2.6.4 has already appeared on 24.12.2019, more or less as a Christmas present.
  7. Such a feature would be good, a basis for the download would finally be available. That is one of the reasons why I still use ownCloud in parallel, there I can download data with a link or depending on its configuration also upload etc.
  8. Such request is more for "Feature Requests"
  9. I'm sorry to say that you don't provide good descriptions that can be used to start. So my suggestion: create a third folder on your client, connect it to your NAS and let Sync mirror the folder. Then you match with a tool (eg FreeFileSync) or manually the two folders on your client and then you can delete the current folder. If this does not suit your taste, then you should leave detailed descriptions, otherwise it will be difficult for anyone who might want to help.
  10. In connection with other 3rd party APP's, I was already aware of the connection with the changes in the new permission system from DSM 6 to DSM 7. Basically, they are profound changes that no longer allow to install with root during a installation and that makes the procedure much more complex. Therefore, it was a very good sign from Resilio to be one of the first to port the Sync APP to DSM 7. This can only be praised, even if Sync is included in the official DSM 7 distribution at Synology and therefore there is already a need for action. Others are not as far along, which is a problem for those who want to upgrade to DSM 7. And is also a problem for those, who buy a new Synology, on which DSM 7 is installed, but not all APP's are in use under DSM 6 can not use under DSM 7, because of the porting to DSM 7 is not yet available. However, what would help Resilio on the Synology download page, if the above descriptions would be deposited there in the area of DSM 7 packages: https://help.resilio.com/hc/en-us/articles/206664850-Synology
  11. There is a possibility in the profile data folder, where the database is located, to delete the ZIP files that are created every day. However, the contents of the ZIP's serve as a backup. Furthermore, there is still in the archive directory under .sync the possibility to delete such deleted and overwritten files, but these also serve as a backup, should something go wrong. In this respect, these precautions are possible, but be careful (!) in dealing with them.
  12. What kind of smartphone do you have and which Android version? If you only have limited access, Resilio will not get access either. So it seems it's more likely a problem with the smartphone. Maybe can you choose a different folder area in which you have access and you can then create subfolders?
  13. In a way what you say is right, Resilio is easier to set up because of the peer orientation, especially since moreover keys can be distributed to share files. This is a feature that would also work in principle in Syncthing, but not from a practical point of view if a connection is to be limited later. Otherwise, Resilio is just not that technical to use, and since I've been a user of both tools for years, I can say with a fair amount that both tools are good, but both have fairly similar problems when the conditions around are correspondingly unfavorable. My main points against Resilio at the moment are the update policy and the resource consumption at lower internet bandwidths. Regarding updates, we have reached v2.7.3 after a break of almost 2 years, at least. We'll see if this once again takes care of all the bugs, v2.7.2 still had gaps after its release afterwards. For Android, we are still at v2.6.3 and v2.6.4 in the GooglePlay version.
  14. So far, unfortunately, there is nothing in sight. The version distributed here as a link is even still v2.6.3. Since we have now arrived at Android v12 and v13 will be distributed sooner or later, this is at least questionable, especially since more and more functional problems are reported here in the forum.
  15. You have to consider that managing of a synchronization on clients takes time and resources. This combination changes with the file size. Many small files therefore have a smaller transfer rate as a result and vice versa. Therefore, to a certain extent, a 1:1 consideration in relation to the network or Internet bandwidth is not meaningful.
  16. Which device and Sync version you have? Seems its a permission problem, doe you check ist and maybe reset them?
  17. What was the condition before and with which version?
  18. There is a feature request that describes the problem, because there ist no feature for that: https://forum.resilio.com/topic/72159-relay-server-for-port-443-https-80-http/ As a rule, it is not possible to communicate from company networks except via ports 80 and 443, i.e. http:// and https://. Since VPN also uses its own addresses/ports, VPN operation is usually blocked. It is clear that Resilio cannot handle this in any case, so in the past I used ownCloud or something like that, which only uses these ports. If you want to unify this, you can currently only use another P2P software that can. Otherwise, the only thing that helps is to wait until Resilio adds the aforementioned possibility in the relays. Resilio advertises a workaround via config, but it doesn't work, so any further attempt is fruitless.
  19. Look here https://help.resilio.com/hc/en-us/articles/206178964-QNAP
  20. The post reads as if only one common directory exists at a time, A and B. It would make sense to cluster all content so that instead of just one shared directory on each Synology, there are e.g. 6, 10, 20 directories that are synchronized, or that there are corresponding subdirectories in A and B, etc. I would only use selective Sync for unproductive clients e.g. reading etc. as is often the case on a Smartphones.
  21. I know, is not nice to say again, but Android still is v2.6.3 ...
  22. This should be possible. Try Resilio Sync and test it.
  23. Resilio Sync is a Sync software and no Filemanager. What you want is not possible with Resilio.
  24. The only thing that helps is to wait and keep looking. If you have subscribed to the newsletter, you will notice something like this.
  25. That's really good and nice to read. Some in the forum will be happy about that. Nonetheless, a few comments. You only speak of desktop versions. The Android version linked at the start of the post is still v2.6.3 from 2018. Here, too, an update to v2.7.3 is urgently (!) required, meanwhile we have reached Android 12 and in the forum you can read that the now 4 year old APP is no longer up-to-date and buggy. This APP for smartphones and tablets has now become at least as important as the desktop versions, because more and more people are working with these devices. At this point I suggest that it would be good to have update cycles e.g. monthly or quarterly in little steps. In the past we discuss about that all now nearly 2 years ago and the last update also was nearly 2 years ago. I could imagine that such long periods of time between updates might also be a bit confusing. With the last update, for example, bugs were not solved or were forgotten, as was then read in the forum by users. Such effects could be circumvented with small updates in short succession. Well then, we'll see how dynamically this develops.
