  1. I've got one machine with two drives. The first drive is for the two OS'. The second drive is the data drive. I use the data drive with apps in each OS, occasionally the same app, KiCAD for instance. I would like to sync them back to my NAS with RSL on it independent of the OS. Is this not possible?
  2. Hi all, I've got a machine that I dual boot Windows and Linux on. The machine has an OS drive, and a separate data drive. I've set RS up on both OS' syncing the same folders on the data drive to my NAS box. I set the Windows machine up first and then set the Linux one. The Linux OS sync's perfectly, but the Windows installation is telling me that the Service Files are Missing on the three folders I want to synchronize. Is there a way to set each of the RS instantiations up to sync the data folders? Thanks chris
  3. The exclude thing worked quite nicely. Thank you very much. Happy Holidays!
  4. Thank you. I'll look at the exclude list. The memory issue has been stated numerous times. I've got an old Dell XPS 13 laptop with 8 gb of memory, which can't be expanded, that I cannot run Resilio Sync as a service on because it consumes over half of the available memory. All my other machine are ok as they have 16 gb or more. My sync list isn't going to change, so the only way to effectively manage this is to run RS on demand if you will, and then killing it when I'm done.
  5. I've been using Resilio Sync free version several years, and other than it being a huge memory consumer, I've been happy with it. I use RS to sync a folder of user settings for Capture One, a photo editing tool. This folder sharing has worked well until a recent software upgrade. C1 configures itself in a particular way dependent on the video card. The two machines having different video card force C1 to re-install the video card setup. What I would like to do is exclude one folder in this setup folder tree from synchronization. I upgraded to RS Pro in order to be able to do this. I've done some spelunking around and maybe I've not had enough coffee yet, I can't for the life of me see a way to do this. Any suggestions? Thanks Chris
  6. Due to the inordinate amount of memory and processor usage of R-Sync, I've switched the usage on my laptop from a service to a normal application. This laptop only has 8 gb of memory and R-Sync consumes nearly half of that when running. So I've dropped back to sync-ing on demand. Sort of. After closing the application, it's still active in Task Manager consuming enormous amounts of processor capability and memory. How do I set it to close completely upon application exit?
  7. Well, As I'm not a paid user, it seems that Resilio is refusing to provide assistance on this issue, so I'll reach out here in hope of getting some resolution. A couple of weeks ago the Resilio Sync on my Synology box refused to connect. A bit of spelunking around indicated a software update was needed due to an updated DSM in the Synology. This has inflicted a couple of issues that weren't there before, and I've worked through the other ones, but now I've got the issue of Chrome declaring that the Resilio certificate is invalid. I'm completely ignorant of Certificates and the handling of such, so would someone provide guidance, in profuse quantities of little words, on how to rectify this? Thank you very much. chris P.S. I absolutely abhor reCAPTCHA. It's a disease....
  8. Um, great.... Philosophically I know what a cron job is. Technically, not so much. Task Manager of which Control Panel? What file, do I need to add what information to? Why is this an issue now? It's never arisen before the software update.
  9. A couple of days ago Resilio Sync refused to start on my Synology DS918+. A bit of spelunking indicates an old version installed. Install new version and now I'm getting this banner at the bottom: "Agent Run Out Of System Notify Watchers" There is this advisory, https://connect.resilio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011329820-Agent-run-out-of-system-notify-watchers, but it might as well be written in Swahili for all the good it's doing me. I'm fairly computer literate and can find my way around in a Linux Command Window, but I need more than this to sort this out. I wouldn't care, but the Sync is working very intermittently. thanks chris
  10. I've had Sync set up for a bit and installed the latest version (v2.14?) today. I haven't fooled with Sync since my Windows boxes updated to the Fall Creators Update, which I have a feeling is behind this schmozzle. I had a folder share with a number of subfolders that Sync started complaining it couldn't access three of the subfolders. Making it rescan the main would alleviate the problem for a while and then it would reoccur. So I deleted the share from Sync. I delete the .sync folder in the main folder and restarted the machine. When I go to create a share of the same folder, Sync indicates that there are three folders that are not in the folder. These are the same three that it was complaining about. The main folder is c:\users\chris\Documents The three it says are there, but aren't are: c:\users\chris\Documents\My Music c:\users\chris\Documents\My Pictures c:\users\chris\Documents\My Video Help? 11. I've experienced the same issue. Why have a function that obviously doesn't work?
