  1. After a completely fresh install (on a new SD card), I'm hitting the same error, but now just this:

Job for resilio-sync.service failed. See 'systemctl status resilio-sync.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details

systemctl status resilio-sync.service gives the following:

    resilio-sync.service - Resilio Sync service
       Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/resilio-sync.service; enabled)
Active: failed (Result: start-limit) since Sat 2017-05-20 12:52:49 UTC; 41min ago
         Docs: http://help.getsync.com/

I am following the instructions here to the letter.

isn't is the same as @zczcz reported initially?!  and did you try the suggestion that worked?

Yes, but I am unable to install arm architecture. I get:

Failed to fetch http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/dists/jessie/InRelease Unable to find expected entry 'main/binary-armel/Packages' in Release file

    As stated, I am on a Raspberry Pi 2. Not a 1.

  3. Well I'm trying to install on a Raspberry Pi 2, following the instructions here (and have successfully installed on a RasPi 3 already) and I get the same error:

Job for resilio-sync.service failed. See 'systemctl status resilio-sync.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details.
invoke-rc.d: initscript resilio-sync, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing package resilio-sync (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
