  1. hi,

So i setup a folder MyFolder on my PC,

and then shared READ+WRITE access code to resilio mobile app (twas easier that way since i can just QR scan the code on the PC)

NEW FILES on mobile phone side gets sent to PC , but:

    1. New Files on PC side not sent to Mobile Phone!
    2. Deleted Files on PC side (of files that came from Mobile phone) is not deleted on Mobile Phone!

I need 2 way sync, mirroring, type of deal.

  2. Hi guys

So I had my Android phone all setup to backup to my PC the important folders, including the DCIM camera folders.

The way I set it up was, my PC had a folder dedicated to each folder in my android device that i wanted to backup, and I shared each folder from Android using Sync app and entered the KEY on the PC side.

    All worked well.

But recently got a new Android phone, and I wanted to simply re-establish this Android to PC relationship.

Since I already have my PC folders setup, I wanted to simply link them with the new Android Device's folders. Then that's where i hit a stumbling block.

It seems that the way Sync is setup is that the DEVICE that will generate the code will be the SOURCE and the device that will COPY the code is the DESTINATION.

If I try to scan QR code on my Sync App, the code is READ-ONLY (i assume it means the Android device will only have read-only capabilities and can't write to the PC folders . This made the PC folders the source and the Android folders the DESTINATION..

What am I missing here? or is this the expected behaviour of Sync?

The only way I could seem to get around this is if on my PC side, i delete/unlink all folders and just redo them.

That means I have to first share the folder on the Android device App, and enter or send the code to PC somehow (so much hassle compared to just QR scanning the code on the PC side of this setup.

So is this really how sync works? The device GENERATING the code will be the SOURCE and the device COPYING the code will be the DESTINATION, and there is no way around this?

    can anyone confirm?

  3. I have turned off all firewalls on desktop, so ports are not blocked for sure

issue 1: I can't find the predefined.host on app. so can't do much on that end

I did try to add predefined host entry on desktop, and that worked. my phone and app now syncing.

Issue 2; my phone is on dynamic IP DHCP from my wifi router, and this is not a solution. Isn't sync supposed to find each other on local network?
i have my uPnP enabled, all firewalls off on desktop .

  4. Hi Guys

I wanted to create a backup of my Mobile Phone, the Android's DCIM folder. In this are the default android folder for my Pictures, as well as other folders automatically created by apps like facebook , my drones, etc etc etc..

On the Resilio app, i went to "ADD BACKUP" then chose "Custom" folder location
I went into the DCIM folder and pressed "CHOOSE FOLDER"

I got a prompt that said
    ------
    Backup "DCIM"
    /storage/emulated/0/DCIM
This folder will be added as backup folder.
    ------
    I clicked "ADD"
then Resilio added a backup folder named "Camera Backup"
There's also no way to change this folder name once the backup folder has been created.
    annoying as hell.
So now I end up with a DCIM Backup folder named "CAMERA BACKUP" which is very misleading
I tried to reinstall resilio sync and resetup, and the same thing happen
I also tried adding a different custom folder from my android device called "my downloads" and boom, REsilio Sync added the backup folder with name "my downloads"
it seems Resilio Sync has a mind of its own and will name my DCIM folder as Camera Backup .. Annoying.

    how can i correct this?
