  1. After an update of the Drobo Access software a couple of days ago and a shutdown and restart, Resilio has lost all settings on the Drobo. All files and folders are there but I'm unsure how or if it is possible to recover my config! The admin page just asks me for my sharing name. I am a Sync Home Pro user. Anyone got any advice on how to proceed?

Trying to sync a Lightroom catalogue from my iMac running OS 10.13.3 to a Drobo5N NAS - everything was going fine for months until last night - getting the following error - "'/Users/Shared/lightroom_Syndlightroom' is not syncing with 'DroboSN' because the time difference between these devices is more than 10 minutes." - clocks look good on my iMac with settings to "set time automatically". Should I try to delete the shared folder and re-establish a sync? - I've tried that once. Thanks for your help! Alberto
  3. Everything was going well until earlier this morning when I manually shut down by Drobo 5N2. Upon restart Resilio doesn't seem to be working. I can't access the GUI (a web page loads but it only has the black strip at the top, no further details). I've tried stopping and starting Resilio from the Drobo Dashboard and one re-boot of the Drobo. Nothing has changed. Syncing is no longer happening and other clients are not connecting. Any hints on things to try?
  4. I installed the BT Sync Drobo App on my Drobo 5N and allowed it time to synchronize. The next time I logged in it told me the clock differed by more than 10 minutes from its peers. I checked all the clocks and they were all the same. However, two peers were using GMT and the Drobo used PDT. (I checked the Drobo by installing Dropbear and SSH-ing in. I'm in EDT BTW.) Apparently there's no way to tell the Drobo which time zone to use. Theoretically, these are all UNIX machines and everybody measures time in seconds since the epoch so there shouldn't be a problem, but I'm assuming since BT Sync runs on a PC it has to play to the lowest common denominator. The only way I could think of fixing this was to add tz="GMT" export TZ="${tz}" to DroboApps/BitTorrent_Sync/service.sh This seems to have worked, in that I stopped getting the message, but I did have two corrupt databases as a result. After disconnecting and connecting one of them it seems to be fine. (I still have to do the other.) Ideally I would have done this before connecting to my peers. If anyone else has any better ideas please let me know. Michael

Sync will then be running on port 8888 of your Drobo, e.g.: http://<IP-of-Drobo-5N>:8888 For reporting problems, I'm a big fan of using Jing (http://www.techsmith.com/download/jing/) for quickly recording and uploading video or annotated images. It is a lot easier for me to understand and reproduce issues by referencing video / annotated images.
  6. I would like to one-way sync 380.000 files all together 1,5TB from a Drobo 5N NAS to a QNAP TS-110 NAS via a 1 Gigabit LAN. After having a few headaches while setting it up, now using the latest versions of BT Sync it seems to be ok so far. But I'm still not sure if I'm trying to do something stupid/impossible and the sync will fail again later. The transfer seems to be super slow so far. Sometimes around a few KB/s and expected syncing times sometimes up to 10 months. I hope this get's better after "Out of sync" and "Indexing" don't show up anymore and the index is up to date on both sides. Can I count on this, or will it stay slow? I read Raspberry Pis can make up to around 1,8MB/s … which theoretically makes a sync within a few days possible. How can I speed this up? I already use these settings on both machines: "lan_encrypt_data" : false,"lan_use_tcp" : true,Additionally in the share preferences on both devices I disabled everything except "Search LAN" to make sure the machines connect to each other directly. While testing around (with older more unstable versions of BT Sync) a few months ago I also tried to manually copy the folder to the target and then do a one-way sync using BT Sync to the copied folder later. But at least back then the sync never finished for whatever reason. Is this generally something advisable to do? There are quite a few things making it a bit inscrutable to me what BT Sync is doing at the moment – e.g. sometimes the WebUI not working at all (which happens if "shared folders" is being set in the config) or a blank WebUI (which I think happens right after starting BT Sync, while scanning the shared folders) or checkboxes of the preferences in the WebUI being just empty after changing a setting and opening the preferences again (also I can't access settings made via the WebUI via the file system to verify everything is as I expect). Sometimes I think these little machines just take more time to finish a process and display something meaningful again and I just have to be a bit more patient. But often enough after waiting a few days the process simply stopped somehow and/or the peers lost each other. I'm already successfully using BT Sync on several Macs and an Android phone, so I'm not completely new to this and think I understood the basics. It would be great to get some general advice on how to sync large folders between low-end NAS machines! Is this generally a good idea? How can I avoid the problems that I mentioned with the WebUI? How can I check what settings are currently being applied? The logs don't tell anything about it. Thanks so much!
  7. Hi, I am trying to upgrade bittorrent sync on my drobo 5n, and it's not working, so I want to make sure I'm using the correct version of sync. The one I've been trying is 1.3.94 (ARM) from http://www.bittorrent.com/sync/downloads/complete/os/arm. Has anyone installed this on a drobo? Or is there a different version that I should be using? Which method did you use to install it - ssh or placing it in the droboapps folder and restarting? I'd previously been using version 1.0.132, which I downloaded from http://www.droboports.com/app-repository/btsync-1-0-132/drobo5n. I installed this by putting in droboapps and restarting. Syncing with that version only worked one-way: from folders on the drobo to folders on other computers; I could never get syncing to work two ways (I figured I'd need to upgrade to the latest version before I'd be able to address that problem).
