  1. In general I love BTS. It's served me well for more than a year. First issue... version 1.3.109 was the latest version to support windows xp, since higher version require IE 9...which cannot be installed on win XP. I still have xp machines... likely will for many more months, possibly years. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. Regardless, my issue is that xattrs have, in the last 6 months or so, killed my sync jobs. I don't know why it started, but the fact that it used to work and now it doesn't was maddening until I figured out why it would occasionally just lock up. Now I understand what
  2. I am running BTsync 1.4 on all my machines. does this mean I can delete all the .SyncIgnore & .SyncArchive files and folders ????
  3. Hi: Tried all I can find here but still can't figure it out the whole “.SyncIngore” thing. Can I please get someone to explain it to me like I’m a 2 year old? I am on a Mac using sync 1.4: Lets say I am syncing Document folder A to Document folder B. Inside both folders is a folder named Bob, which I want the sync to ignore, i.e, sync every folder inside Document folder A & Document folder B, but leave the Bob folder alone. From what I can tell, I create the UTF-8 file using wildcards. So I created a .SyncIgnore file with *.* as its only contents and placed the file inside the Bob fol
  4. Hello - I am trying to add my <username>\Documents folder to BTSync (not sharing yet). It will not index completely, it gets stuck on a Junction in the \Documents directory and fails. I've worked with support and confirmed this is a problem, they have indicated it will be fixed in a future release. (thanks for the help!). The temporary solution suggested is to add the junction to the .SyncIgnore file in \Documents. But, I cannot get BTSync to ignore the junction. This is the error I receive: [2014-06-30 14:46:51] SyncFolderScanner: GetFileList failed for folder \\?
  5. Hi everyone! I am trying to sync my Home directory with 1.3.105 on OS X 10.9.3 but it seems like my .SyncIgnore file is being (partially?) ignored. This is what it looks like: # .SyncIgnore is a UTF-8 encoded .txt file that helps you specify single files, paths and rules # for ignoring during the synchronization job. It supports "?" and "*" wildcard symbols.####/Music/Dropbox/Library*.aplibraryiPhoto Library# Synology #@eaDir# hidden files #.*# OS generated files #.DS_Store.DS_Store?._*.Spotlight-V100.Trashesehthumbs.dbdesktop.iniThumbs.db# Finder
  6. I would like to setup selective backup servers of a huge multimedia folder tree. I have mixed videos and pictures in a folder tree. I would like to have a backup server only for video and other only for pictures. The proposed setup is composed of 3 R/W nodes: A. Main server: Including all the files B. Video server: Filtering out the picture extensions and docs in .SyncIgnore file C. Pictures server: Filtering out the video extensions and docs in .SyncIgnore file My questions: 1. Is it possible to have 3 nodes with different .SyncIgnore files? 2. Is there any side effect? Thank
  7. I was wondering if it is possible to have the .SyncIgnore only apply to certain deviecs. I have 2 Windows machines and 1 Android device syncing my pictures library. I would like for the windows machines to sync the ENTIRE folder, which they do. however I only want certain folders to sync on my android. example: -Pictures Fldr1 Fldr2* Fldr3 Fldr4* Fldr5 I want everything in Pictures on the windows PCs however I only want Fldr1 and Fldr3 on my android. is this possible with the current iteration of BT Sync? if so how would it be done?
