  1. Hello, I have been having problems with disappearing/deleted files in folders. Folders that previously contained multiple text files and images, suddenly contain no files at all. I now have many empty folders. I use my Time Machine backup to find the files again and restore them, or I find the files in the archive folder. This is not always possible and leads to complete loss of data and is very frustrating. I also find several files that are 0 KB. This seems to happen especially to .pages files and not to .doc files. There again I need to use my Time Machine backup or archive folder to restore the files when possible. I have been a happy BtSync customer for several years but now these critical bugs in the last months are very alarming with our work data. Please help!
  2. Hello guys! I have a windows 8.1 x64 machine and one LG G3 android kitkat with bittorrentsync. I have some folders from windows synced with my phone in Read-Write permission mode on both sides (they are ok!) And I have some folders from Android synced with the windows machine in Read-only mode (since that is the only mode for this set-up, right?) The problem is: When I delete files from my phone, the files still remain on the windows. For example, If I delete some photos from my Camera folder on my phone they will still be on windows. (the folders don't sync deleted files from my phone to windows). I haven't put any rule inside IgnoreList on both sides. Can you guys help me in finding the problem/solution. Thank you very much!
  3. I have a 'read-only' folder synced with several desktops. What should the BTSync behaviour be when I delete some files on desktops that are synced from the RO folder? Imo the file should be restored again by the sync process.....but this is not the case. Is this normal?
  4. Sync deleted a bunch of my files. Because of this, I'm switching to <munched by admin - considered spam> (a direct DropBox competitor). I realize that Sync is in Alpha, but it is public. I also turned off the "sync trash" or whatever it is called. I don't want to keep a bunch of old files that I deleted. It seemed to work very well overall for a time. However, one day as I was working, I noticed lots of notifications popping up from Sync. I started looking and it was deleting all my files inside a particular folder, as well as several subfolders, etc. Though the documentation says all files deleted (when the sync trash is turned off) will go to the trash, only a few were there. I think that perhaps it had deleted the rest of the files/folders previously, and I'd since emptied the trash without realizing all that was in there. Luckily I use BackBlaze to backup everything. I was able to download that folder and it's sub-folders and restore all the files. I contacted support including logs for them to see what had happened. I updated to version 1.0.32 and tried again. Promptly, it started deleting those same files and folders again. I uninstalled completely and restored the files again fearing there might be more files that were deleted that I wasn't aware of and not wanting to add to that list. Support got back to me after about a week and said "try version 1.0.32" which I'd already done. I was very conflicted about if I should try to tinker with it. I'd hoped it would be a "just works" replacement for LiveMesh, and it very much seemed to be... until it started deleting my files. I'd just assumed that cloud-based solutions like DropBox were going to cost me more than I wanted to pay (I have quite a bit of data I need synced), so I'd ignored them. Then a friend clued me in to <munched by admin - considered spam> that lets you get 5GB free space for each person you refer that installs the desktop app. I tried that out and was able to get enough space that I can now sync all my files to the cloud, and to both of my computers (plus there's a mobile app, etc). It's basically just DropBox, with a lot more free space, if you use the referral program. Just thought I'd let people know, in case they have the same problem, or don't want to risk their files getting deleted.
  5. I installed BTsync at my Debian server (arm) but it keeps segfaulting after running a little while. After restarting BTsync the folder list in the webui is empty so I have readded the shares a few times (3 other machines were already synced so I added with existing secret keys). Suddenly the size column reported 0b in 0 files for one of the shares. Checking shares on another machine it rapidly decreased in size, deleting files. I quickly killed btsync on the debian server but about half of the files had evaporated from all synced machines. Luckily I had one machine that was turned off during all this so I managed to rescue my files from that one by booting it without network connection, making backups of the shares and plugging it to the network agian. The shared files on that machine then also suddenly we're removed... I then copied the files back from the backups and now all machines connected to the shares are back with all files. Except the debian server of course. I don't dare to connect that one again... No why did it start with this behaviour, deleting files? And how can I prevent this from happening again? Right now BTsync doesn't feel safe to use for me.
