  1. Hello everyone, I have a problem with Resilio syncing between my Windows PC and my QNAP NAS. According to the App Center on my TS-251+, Resilio Sync is installed, but when I try to open it, I get an error message "Firefox can't establish a connection to server (my NAS's IP address):14860". How can I get control over it again?
  2. I installed app on my Android phone and on my QNAP device. I created a user/pass and id on the QNAP device and set the default folder and file download location to /share/CACHEDEV3_DATA/Backup/ResilioSync I want to be able to create folders in this location for each device that I want to have backup/sync'd folders for. i.e. MyAndroid MyLaptop In MyAndroid for example I would like to have several backups or sync'd folders that are mapped to locations on the QNAP NAS as examples DCIM -> /share/CACHEDEV3_DATA/Backup/ResilioSync/MyAndroid/DCIM Downloads. -> /share/CACHEDEV3_DATA/Backup/ResilioSync/MyAndroid/Downloads Music -> /share/CACHEDEV3_DATA/Backup/ResilioSync/MyAndroid/Music My issue is I don't know how to do this and finding instructions has been a task in futility. I know that when I'm on my Android device and click the + I can then create a Camera Backup that creates a URL which I can send to myself ... but I just want it to know about the device I want it to backup/sync upon so I can add other folders as well instead of one at a time. Am I missing something in this process or is it this much of a back and forth setup between devices? It seems odd that if I want someone else to be able to use Resilio i.e. my wife I have to have her set these up on a device then have me manually add every single new folder she wants to backup but maybe I'm missing something.
  3. Hi, I'm syncing from a Mac Pro to two NAS units, a QNAP and a Synology, and both NASes keep showing folders that are stuck at 100% but never get to the green checkmark. Closer inspection reveals that each of the stuck folders is stuck downloading files. The Mac is running 2.6.4 (1344), the Synology is running 2.6.4 (1344) and the QNAP is running 2.6.0 (1317). I tried shutting down the QNAP and setting up the problematic folder over from scratch between just the Mac and the Synology to keep versions equal, and the problem persisted. Any idea what could be causing this and what I can do to resolve it? Thanks, -Seb
  4. Hi guys, for two weeks now I'm synchronizing data on my NAS to a remote server. Sync is terribly slow, but not a bandwidth problem. The data transfer is inconsistent, I'll explain it better. I'm currently synchronizing, with encryption, a folder with 975,000 files of about 668Gb. They are all RAW images. Just look at the story/log to see what happens, NAS transfers files every 6, 8, or 10 minutes. Not continuously! If I control the data traffic of my network it is clear that the upload stream (the blue graph) is not constant but there are only peaks. Now I've thought that the Resilio process takes a long time to encrypt data, so I connected to my NAS via ssh and the rslsync process never occupies more than 25% of the CPU. The priority of the rslsync process was at 0, so I took priority to -10 and then -19. Nothing has changed. After that I thought that the reading and temp writing of the data to be encrypted is slow, so I checked the processes that read and write with iotop. But surprisingly I have seen that it often occupies 0% of the resources. In two weeks I'm not even 50% of the transfer, I do not understand. Other smaller folders (100Gb) went smoothly and with full regularity. Some data on my current configuration: NAS: QNAP TS-453A with 8Gb of RAM (50% free around) QNAP QTS: build 20170624 Resilio version: 2.5.4 x64 (Manual installation) Remote Server: HP i7 with 16Gb of RAM Debian Jessie Resilio version: 2.5.4 x64 Can you please help me to figure out what's happening? If you need logs or other data to write to me, I am a regular home licensed user. Thanks Andrea
  5. I've created a rslsync encrypted folder on my NAS (QNAP TS119, Marvell Kirkwood SOC) and added the encrypted key to a rslsync folder on a vserver. This setup won't sync apparently due to failing hash checks at the vserver. Syncing to another target (Notebook, Arch Linux, Linux 4.8.11, x86_64, rslsync 2.4.2, r/w key) works in all directions (NAS <-> Laptop, vserver <-> Laptop). I think I've quoted the relevant logfile entries, if not the full logfiles are attached. Many thanks for your support! Setup V-Server: platform: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.36-1+deb8u2 (2016-10-19) x86_64 version: Nas: platform: Linux 3.16.0-4-kirkwood #1 Debian 3.16.36-1+deb8u2 (2016-10-19) armv5tel version: Logfiles vserver: [20161206 12:20:11.310] TF[B140] [0x00007f2fec00bbe0][/home/rslsync/shares/sync/UPBWW6NDNON4BVATGDQ53XO3QLABMZKYQM3CBHU4FS762DNIFFZ45FIIV62EEXCXA5L563TAI4ZJ4OCHOJ3J3VOXKGRUYYLZXUPB3VA5T5EXSI4RFNFRDW5BFALKZG3GWY6KRAM7WY66XDSPXSTSXTIANQXXGQ53S6IOM5VBTVOWX42DW7RXITYAOMEF52M6RUO6EGA26BTEVLKXLS5AN4KMGE]: state:DOWNLOAD error: meta:1 conns:1 io:0 [20161206 12:20:11.310] PD[B140] [6D82]: Sending ping to "" [20161206 12:20:11.395] SyncFolderNotify: SyncFolderNotify: "D76B709F276A8B29F9CB7AD9DFF601CB96917C33.!sync", event = "IN_MODIFY" [20161206 12:20:11.395] [OnNotifyFileChange] "/home/rslsync/shares/sync/.sync/D76B709F276A8B29F9CB7AD9DFF601CB96917C33.!sync" [20161206 12:20:11.395] TF[B140] [0x00007f2fec00bbe0][/home/rslsync/shares/sync/UPBWW6NDNON4BVATGDQ53XO3QLABMZKYQM3CBHU4FS762DNIFFZ45FIIV62EEXCXA5L563TAI4ZJ4OCHOJ3J3VOXKGRUYYLZXUPB3VA5T5EXSI4RFNFRDW5BFALKZG3GWY6KRAM7WY66XDSPXSTSXTIANQXXGQ53S6IOM5VBTVOWX42DW7RXITYAOMEF52M6RUO6EGA26BTEVLKXLS5AN4KMGE]: *** PIECE 155 FAILED HASH CHECK [20161206 12:20:11.395] TF[B140] [0x00007f2fec00bbe0][/home/rslsync/shares/sync/UPBWW6NDNON4BVATGDQ53XO3QLABMZKYQM3CBHU4FS762DNIFFZ45FIIV62EEXCXA5L563TAI4ZJ4OCHOJ3J3VOXKGRUYYLZXUPB3VA5T5EXSI4RFNFRDW5BFALKZG3GWY6KRAM7WY66XDSPXSTSXTIANQXXGQ53S6IOM5VBTVOWX42DW7RXITYAOMEF52M6RUO6EGA26BTEVLKXLS5AN4KMGE]: sending bad piece 155 to peer [6D82] nas: [20161206 12:20:11.415] PC[0xb483aab8][0xb3e63360][] got bad piece 155 [20161206 12:20:12.313] TF[B140] [0xb3e63360][<< Path to file removed >>]: state:SEED error: meta:1 conns:1 io:0 nas-sync.tar.xz vserver-sync.tar.xz
  6. Hi. I have been using BTsync for about a year. I switched to Resilio and it is hanging continuously. By the way I lost the app password after install and had to login with ssh and erase: settings.dat, settings.dat.old from: /share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/ResilioSync/Storage/ So I could access the app. The resilio icon has disappeared from menu screen as well so I have to continuously open App Center to 'stop' the hung app and restart it. I runs for a while. Sometimes minutes, sometimes hours and then hangs again. I didn't realize I was not auto syncing for a few months as this NAS is there for backup primarily. Quite frustrated over here. Anybody have any ideas? BB
  7. Since some months back I've encountered my QNAP NAS totally unresponsive once a week, needing a reboot to be usable again. With help from QNAP's support, I've narrowed the problem down to the Sync app in combination with the antivirus scan provided by QNAP: - I have the antivirus scan scheduled to run once every week. One of the folders in the scan job is synced by the Bittorrent Sync app on the NAS. - After some hour of antivirus scanning, before the antivirus reports a finished scanning, the NAS becomes impossible to reach on the network. It happens every time, and the NAS has to be rebooted. No logs show any direct clues to what happened. - If I disable the Sync app, though, the antivirus scanning jobs always finish without a fault! - If I re-enable the Sync app, the NAS hangs again at every scan job. I don't know if QNAP or Sync (or both) is to blame for this error, but it makes Sync much less useful and reliable. Worth noting is that this error started appearing some 6 or 12 months ago, so it was introduced in some software update from Sync or QNAP, probably during early 2016 or so. I have regularly updated the NAS and Sync several times the last year. It should be mentioned though that I still run one of the last versions of Bittorrent Sync before the rebranding to Resilio, so I haven't tried out the last version and due to various bad experiences I am not currently planning on installing it. This is more of a bug report than a cry for help.
  8. Hi everybody, On a Qnap Nas, I just wonder how you can set up BTsync on the folder "/share" (the root one)? During the set up process, BTsync doesn't allow me to do this... See screenshot here : I think it's all about permissions right, even if I'm logged in as "admin" (=root account on Qnap Nas). For the moment BTsync just allow me to choose a subfolder but we already have folders (for example : ADMIN, ARCHIVES, LIBRARIES, WORK) inside the "/share". These folders have been previously synced with RTRR protocol (approx. 3TB of datas). Now we want to manage the syncing process with BTSync... because RTRR is way to slow... If you have any idea, it would be great! Thanks in advance. Regards. John
  9. Hello all, today I tried to upgrade from BitTorrent Sync 2.38 to Resilio Sync 2.4 on my QNAP TS879-Pro. Not only the upgrade failed but also no further installation of Sync is starting on my NAS. I've tried removing the app an reinstalling and restarting the NAS vice versa. I've even tried the x86_64-Version even when my QOS is only 4.2.2. Is the 2.3.8-version available somewhere or are there other solutions to my problem? Best regards GeHoGo
  10. Hi, today I have tryed to update my BtSync installtion to RslSync 2.4.0 on my two QNAP TS-459 Pro II. Before I had the last version of BtSync (not RslSync) and work very well. When I try to start RslSync I receive the following error: Normally I downloaded the i386 version, but I always tried the amd64 version and always generates an error: Can you fix this bug? Thanks Andrea
  11. I'm using QNAP TS451 with 4.2 firmware. I plan to sync photos across my iPhone and wife's iPhone, or at least back them up on the server. Every other app has sucked so far, so this looked promising. First time I loaded the qpkg just by searching with the built in QNAP app manager (ver 2.3.6) and though the btsync screen loaded beautifully and was user friendly, if I tried to link my phone and set a destination folder, it errors saying "sync doesn't have permissions to this folder" no matter where I put it. Even pre creating the folder in QNAP. I tried to change permissions to give admin (and even a group called btsync) access to the folder and still no joy. So I saw a tutorial recommending installation of btsync by manual installation in the QNAP app screen, so I uninstalled and reinstalled manually and now the btsync screen won't load at all. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the other way and still won't load. Any ideas???
  12. Because of the also popular QNAP devices I´m searching for a overview table similar to the Synology file, you have stored I´m search for the right qpkg-package for TS-453, 653, 853, 563, but I´m not sure about this, if this are x86 or x64 types.
  13. Hello, we deployed BTSync 1.2.91 (i386 linux version) on 4 linux machines, 1 CentOS and 3 NAS TS-269 (linux-based operating system QTS). I noticed that on various occasions CPU load as dislayed by the top utility shows btsync running at the top with high cpu loads over 85%, often peaking to 99.9%. Some machines reached a consistent 99.9% level after about a day. When the porcessed reached 99.9%, GUI responds slowly, some synced folders appear not to be synchronized (at least in GUI) and there seem to be hanging (infinitely pending) transfers. I noticed similar behavior with version 1.2.82, where CentOS process often crashed with segfault and QTS machines as if "accumulated" load until 99.9% when they stopped working, although the process itself did not crash. Temporary solution implemented is periodical restart of btsync every two hours. After restart, btsync starts at low CPU loads (1 to 10%) and is getting busier as time passes. Before it becomes completely dead it is gracefully restarted by a cron job. Could this be answer to some of you guys who reported insanely slow download speeds? Regards, Jindrich Vavruska
  14. I've just installed the x86_64 Sync 2.0.81 package on my QNAP TS-269L and, while it installs without error, it doesn't seem to run at all. When I click on the link to access the web interface, on port 14859, I can't connect. In addition, my PC's sync 2.0 client shows the NAS peer as offline. Is this package broken? Am I missing something? Thanks for any ideas!
  15. Hello QNAP Model: TS-809U Firmware version: 4.1.0 Bittorrent Sync verison: 1.3.109 Linux version: 3.4.6 (root@NasX86-13) (gcc version 4.1.3 20070929 (prerelease) (Ubuntu 4.1.2-16ubuntu2)) #1 Normally, by default, Bittorrent Sync runs on linux as the user: “root” and group: “administrators” and writes these owner:group permissions to syncronized files and folder that it creates. In the case of the QNAP NAS, Bittorrent Sync writes files and runs as the user “admin”. I have successfully managed to enforce all sub-folders and files in my sync folder to inherit the group “btsync” in the file permissions by using: chown admin:btsync /syncchmod g+s /syncThe problem is that Bittorrent Sync creates new files and folders with read-only permissions for the group “bysync” (i.e. wxr-xr-x / octal 0755). From researching I have found that the 2 ways to change this normally would be: 1) Add this line to the btsync.conf file and restart btsync: // DAEMON_UMASK=0022) Use the following command and when prompted enter "002" as the umask dpkg-reconfigure btsyncNeither of the 2 above methods resolve the issue. In the case of item 1, this setting seems to be ignored by btsync. With item 2, “dpkg-reconfigure” is not a command available on the version of linux used by the QNAP NAS. Thank you in advance for your help!
  16. Hi Team, I have a strange anomaly with BtSync 2. The problem arose from version x.104! I have two QNAP NAS and one CentOS server, the two NAS share the same folders while the server only two. After a few days of the starting the two NAS BtSync lose synchronization bringing me back "0 of 0 peers" for some folders. Just that I reboot the BtSync process in one of two NAS and everything goes back to work. The strange thing is that some folders are synchronized, some not. And if I go to Menu> "My Devices ..." I'm not seeing the other devices. But the folders still active synchronizes properly. I am attaching some screenshots! I restarted the process, only in one NAS, and synchronization is active in ALL folders.
  17. Hello!!!!!! Just installed new Bittorrent Sync for QNAP vers. 1.3.106. How I can share folder from my QNAP shared folders? I can not!!!!!! I can use only something from /Share - but even DO NOT KNOW where this /Share placed in my QNAP. Previous version give me a possibility to share any folder/subfolder from my QNAP. Now I can not do that. Please, who know to resolve this???? Vitalii
  18. I would like to one-way sync 380.000 files all together 1,5TB from a Drobo 5N NAS to a QNAP TS-110 NAS via a 1 Gigabit LAN. After having a few headaches while setting it up, now using the latest versions of BT Sync it seems to be ok so far. But I'm still not sure if I'm trying to do something stupid/impossible and the sync will fail again later. The transfer seems to be super slow so far. Sometimes around a few KB/s and expected syncing times sometimes up to 10 months. I hope this get's better after "Out of sync" and "Indexing" don't show up anymore and the index is up to date on both sides. Can I count on this, or will it stay slow? I read Raspberry Pis can make up to around 1,8MB/s … which theoretically makes a sync within a few days possible. How can I speed this up? I already use these settings on both machines: "lan_encrypt_data" : false,"lan_use_tcp" : true,Additionally in the share preferences on both devices I disabled everything except "Search LAN" to make sure the machines connect to each other directly. While testing around (with older more unstable versions of BT Sync) a few months ago I also tried to manually copy the folder to the target and then do a one-way sync using BT Sync to the copied folder later. But at least back then the sync never finished for whatever reason. Is this generally something advisable to do? There are quite a few things making it a bit inscrutable to me what BT Sync is doing at the moment – e.g. sometimes the WebUI not working at all (which happens if "shared folders" is being set in the config) or a blank WebUI (which I think happens right after starting BT Sync, while scanning the shared folders) or checkboxes of the preferences in the WebUI being just empty after changing a setting and opening the preferences again (also I can't access settings made via the WebUI via the file system to verify everything is as I expect). Sometimes I think these little machines just take more time to finish a process and display something meaningful again and I just have to be a bit more patient. But often enough after waiting a few days the process simply stopped somehow and/or the peers lost each other. I'm already successfully using BT Sync on several Macs and an Android phone, so I'm not completely new to this and think I understood the basics. It would be great to get some general advice on how to sync large folders between low-end NAS machines! Is this generally a good idea? How can I avoid the problems that I mentioned with the WebUI? How can I check what settings are currently being applied? The logs don't tell anything about it. Thanks so much!
  19. Hi Guys, I ask immediately apologize for my English. I hope I make myself understood. I have two QNAP with BTSync to version 1.4.83 Beta, I have a problem if I want to synchronize two folders already exist. In the "NAS A" and "B NAS" I have 8 folders equal (I did copy and paste by hand). I turned on the "NAS A" BTSync for all 8 folders and waited indexing. In the "NAS B" I have activated synchronization, using the private key of the "NAS A", for all 8 folders. But they are always "0 peers" and the synchronization don't part. Screenshot from NAS B: But if I sync a folder full of "NAS A" in an empty folder "NAS B" synchronization part and I see "1 peers." The "NAS A" starts to send data to the "NAS B". I do not understand why?! Thanks Andrea
  20. On my QNAP TS-269L with firmware 4.1.0 Build 20140612, after removing and reinstalling the BitTorrent Sync 1.3.106 app I'm prompted to set a password for admin. Pretty standard stuff. If I use a simple password such as "1234" everything works just fine. But if, after deleting and reinstalling the app, I use a long complex password such as "07hQ8DQ#W7vdjD%e7Z1U64ty" I can't login! I determined that "#" was an invalid character although that wasn't flagged when I pasted it in and confirmed it. Can you please accept any number of upper and lower case letters, numbers, symbols and special characters in the GUI password? And if you can't, can you please put a note as to which characters are, and what length is, legal? Thanks.
  21. HI, I have a QNAP TS-269L NAS 3tb and I have successfully installed btsync on it and all seems to work perfectly apart from when it comes to actually syncing. I have installed version 1.3.94 and it says this is the latest version, I have confirmed that the btsync program is running, folders added using readonly secret key. Adds the folders just fine, lists everything but then this is where normally it starts twitching, indexing, uploads, downloads, transfer rates. The NAS version doesn't seem to do this :/ I've tried turning off antivirus on the NAS box but this made no difference at all it just sits there (I monitored for 2hrs, nothing). any suggestions welcomed BigB
  22. I have successfully installed BitTorrent Sync on my QNAP TS-412 NAS device. I have done this by building QPKG packages which can be installed via QPKG Center. All necessary instructions and scripts can be found at I hope this will be helpful to other people. If you have any questions, ask them here or file an issue. Pull requests are always welcome!
  23. I'm new to this, but I've followed all the instruction to install this app on my TS-412. 1) I've tried to install the app from the Store, however once I enter the account details I get the error "Web Page Not Available", So I've un-installed and removed the BitTorrentSync folder from the .qpkg folder. 2) I've tried to follow the instructions on this site to do it manually, however when I try to run the ./ I get the error "qbuild is required......" The saw this on the forum and tried the symlink but I then get an error of "ln: /bin/bash: File Exists" 3) Now tried to download the arm version from the BTSync site and it won't install under a manual, even after un-tar. My QNAP has been recently rebuilt with firmware 4.1.0. Any ideas or help would be appreciated..
  24. Hi everybody, following senario: All devices are QNAP-212P (BitTorrent Sync Version 1.1.82) Two sites connected via VPN only routed without firewall in between. All of them have the same secret-key and the same shared folder. In Site A, each device finds the other. Once there is a device in location B, it can be seen none of the site A. All devices in A can´t see the device in B. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a problem with Sync? Thanks Jerue
  25. Hi, How to use "Encryption Secret" (from the BitTorrent Sync API) on a QNAP NAS (TS-870) ? Purpose: using "encryption secret" with BitTorrent Sync on my QNAP to encrypt data on the receiver’s side. (Otherwise, all other solutions to encrypt files on the receiver's side is welcome). Thank you.
