  1. User Story: Manually restoring files from .sync/Archive is not as intuitive as having a GUI. In the initial release it might be as simple as: MyModifiedFile.txt Restore a previous version 2018-04-10 10:30 AM 2018-04-10 10:19 AM 2018-04-09 07:50 PM 2018-04-08 02:00 PM MyDeletedFile.txt Restore file In further iterations it might implement a file preview and/or a comparison view. The most important feature regarding this would be the ability to unset the deleted status in database so the file can be re-uploaded from an encrypted peer. Thank you, guys. You did an incredible job.
  2. Problem: Restoring an encrypted folder always shows "Request denied" - so I can't restore. Details: I just installed Resilio and am running it as a service on a Windows 10 PC. I also installed the Android Resilio client. I had an SD card plugged into my PC and I added it (from my PC) as an encrypted folder, then went to my phone and entered the proper key and it successfully synced from my PC to my phone and it's encrypted on my phone. So far so good. Now I'm testing restoring from my phone to my PC. I removed/disconnect/however-you-say-it my folder on my SD card from the Resilio web interface on my PC, then removed the SD card and set it aside. I'm simulating a drive dying. Then on my phone, I shared the encrypted backup. I e-mailed the link to myself from my phone to my PC. Then from my PC, in the Resilio web interface, I chose "Enter a link or a key" and copied and pasted the shared link that I received in e-mail from my phone. I selected a new local folder on my PC's hard drive to receive the files from my phone. It then displayed it in the web interface with "pending request". I went to my phone's resilio app and saw there was a notification. I opened it and approved the request. Seconds later, on my PC in the web interface, the status changed from "Pending approval" to "Request denied". I followed these instructions by enabling 1 of the 2 services mentioned here (the other service was already running) That did NOT fix it. I've tried multiple times and have "Unlinked this device" multiple times and generated a new share URL from the phone every time. Nothing I do works. Need help, please.
  3. Hello, I plan to reinstall windows. After that I'd like to restore my "profile", so I would have all folders already in GetSync loaded with same settings. I've found topic about same question, but when I've checked this folder it has just one file with 0 bytes size
  4. After restoring my PC via an image file (with EaseUS Todo Backup), BT-sync is asking me to create a new identity. I suppose that since the image file I restored from is a week old, it messed up the BT-sync's date and time. I already had like 9 people syncing with me so how do I get back these people without creating a new identity. p.s. ALL the log and configuration files are still intact (from the restore) in the AppData folder so I don't know why BT-sync is not using them.
  5. Hi, i have several Friends and Famility where i use BTSync to have a backup of their files without requiring them to do anything. Now if i imagine one of them catches an encryption trojan like would i go about restoring them? i have them all set up with a RO copy with activated Archive. so i'd expect all files to show up in .sync\Archive\... but some might have different versions already so i would have to identify the last archived version for each -> the one with the highest *.<Number>.<Extension> or maybe all from a certain Date and Time Range? i guess sooner or later a BTSync user will be hit and it might be nice if there were some guidance or FAQ for that issue. Thanks Rag
  6. I really love using BitTorrent Sync for syncing very large files, but there is one thing that is driving my crazy and that is the lack of a backup and restore feature for the settings, folder locations, keys, etc. I have a tradition of erasing my entire hard drive and starting from scratch when a new OS update comes out. It gets really annoying trying to manually copy and paste all the keys. It would be really awesome if there was a backup and restore function for BitTorrent Sync; where you can select the secrets you want to restore and change the directory to different location if needed. I really hope you consider this feature. It would make BitTorrent a flawless experience for me.
  7. For many users, the encrypted read-only syncing i a good way of backing up data on an untrusted loacation. If you accidently delete a file and the deletion is synced (happens quite fast!), its gone forever. Even if any encrypted file is retrieved via FTP (or any other way) from the Encrypted-only (F..) peer and you have all the Keys, it still cannot be decrypted. So, any virus / mistaken deletion is fatal. Also the use of the version history is not meant to be used with encrypted-only (F..) Peers. My scenario would be kind of a "TimeMachine" backup of the (F..)peer folder onto another HDD. But if i only store undecryptable material.... For more information: Thank you for consideration.
  8. Hi, A couple of my folders on BTSync were deleted when I switched on one of my synced computers today. Apparrently, another of my computers 'deleted' files in the night. I am not sure how to remedy this. I found some of the files in the sync archive of the former computer. However, they have lost the timestamps when they were first created + latest modification. Is there a way to recover these metadata? I also don't know if more files have been lost...? Would anyone know what the problem is? On a related note, I've also noticed that the upload/download status have been stuck for weeks, usually ~Mb order of magnitude. Furthermore, some files just don't sync over the computers. I really hope to recover the files, they are for work... Thank you for the help. Also to add, out of the 3 computers, which I have access to 2 now, there seems to be different extent of deletions.
