  1. I want to achieve the following, I have a desktop and a laptop and a Netgear ReadyNas device. I want to sync the My Documents across the laptop and desktop via the Nas i.e. from the desktop to the Nas then from the nas to the laptop and vice versa. I have the latest versions of Resilio sync on all devices. What folder do I add on the Nas as the intermediate folder? When I try an add the My Documents on either the desktop or laptop I get a message saying you don't have permission to write to this folder. I'm not sure I understand the setup really. I want to go via the Nas because that is always on whereas the desktop or laptop may not necessarily be powered on together. Regards Pete
  2. Howdy- I'm thinking of giving this product a shot. Looks good, but I have an important question: - I have about 30 low cost laptops at my home (I do research out of hobby). - I've programmed each laptop to do a task in excel and then export a simple TXT file in a certain location (a tiny txt file I could save in the Sync folder) - These machines are a mix of Win7 and 10 and all on the same/dedicated WiFi network - It would be easier for me if Resilio sync just shared them to all the machines. Saves me a little manual work. Question: Does Resilio Sync require that a certain dedicated computer always act as the master computer or will sync work no matter which computers are on the network and/or not on the network? Hope this makes sense. If this works, I will probably go pro because a) Its very cheap, b) its the right thing to pay for services one uses and c) selective sync feature Thanks!
  3. Hey, I´m new with freebsd and I need some help. Could someone help me to install resilio sync with freebsd 11.0? I have downloaded the x64 tar.gz from https://download-cdn.resilio.com/stable/FreeBSD-x64/resilio-sync_freebsd_x64.tar.gz and decompresserd it. What I have to do now? sorry for this noob question, Im used to install apps from pkg or ports.
  4. I'm trying to configure on freeBSD. but I can't access the webUI. Anything I'm missing? I've set up the config file by going "./rslsync --dump-sample-config > sync.conf," making my desired edits, then restarting rslsync by going "killall rslsync" and then "./rslsync" what's the problem?
  5. Hi there, Is there a way to remove a few linked devices from the devices list that are not used anymore? While setting up BitTorrent Sync on two Androids, the program kept crashing a few times, which forced me to reconfigure the setup. No problem, it happens, but it did link already with another "main" device, and on there the two unused devices are staying "out of sync" in the list. Any way to remove those? Thanks!
  6. On mobile version of BTSync you could activate or deactivate sync on a 3g wifi network but this could be set only for general settings. Should be nice to let set 3g\wifi sync folder by folder ;-)
  7. Hopefully someone can help me with my setup on two Synology NASs that I'd like to sync some folders on. I've followed the setup instructions for installing btsync on my devices at: http://blog.bittorrent.com/2014/02/04/sync-hacks-how-to-set-up-bittorrent-sync-on-a-synology-nas/ (I've gone this route to keep my build up to date as the synocommunity has gone down along with their package). I have a default config setup onboth NASs. I've set up a folder on each NAS to be used for syncing and synced them using the web ui. They connect instantly (no issue there). However, when I put files in the sync folder on NAS 1, it takes an eternity to sync the files to NAS 2. Here are the specs: Both NASs connected on an internal gigabit LAN networksync folders on respective NASs newly create, containing no filesAdd 4 files of approx 16MB in total to sync folder on NAS 1Files are recognised and start transferring: ie !Sync temp files are createdAfter 1 hour, files are still syncing (not one of the 4 has finished)Transfer speeds are showing at between 2 and 70 B/s (ie barely moving)CPU and RAM usage on both devices are hovering around 10 - 20%, so that isn't an issueNow comes the interesting part: I put btsync for Mac on my MacBook ProI then added the sync folder to my MBPWithin an instant, all 3 devices are brought into syncSo the upshot is that the synology to synology sync is dire, but add a 3rd device using a different platform and everything works as expected. My assumption is therefore that NAS 1 syncs rapidly and as expected with the MBP which then syncs rapidly with NAS 2 (not proven, but still a strong assumption). Of course, I don't want to/can't leave my MBP on to continually keep the NASs in sync. My question, of course, is how do I get NAS 1 & NAS 2 to sync at anything approaching decent speeds? Is there maybe something in the default Linux setups/configs that conflict and needs to be amended to speed up Linux to Linux syncing?? Or something else??
  8. Hi ! it seems ipv6 is not supported ! is it just an impress or is it real ? using webui, adding a directory is easy, but it seems that we can't change advance configuration during creation, so that public tracker, LAN and relay are used directly. I create a directory on my synology, and change conf to remove everything, and adding my server as predefined host. adding directory on my server, it find directly the peer without configuring predefined hosts ! strange finaly, is there a way to change sync frequency ? thanks !
  9. Bug: fatal (installation program) I downloaded and ran BTSync.exe (md5sum 25f28dc590bf4bd651447c03e74cd159). I elected to install it on a Windoze XP machine, and made the installation directory a directory on a NAS which was seen by the OS as Z:\. When I was prompted for a directory to "sync," I chose to browse for one, got a list of drives and directories on my computer, and selected a directory, specifically one called Z:\XFER At this point a window popped up reporting the crash, and offering me to send in a report to the developers, which I hope it did. At this junction, I shall attempt to reproduce the error, following the same steps. Yes. The bug happens the same way (screenshot attached), however, this time, the installation program cycles back to the standard installation/I have a secret screen. I can then keep cycling to selecting a directory and crashing. I'll be happy to try it again when you fix the installation program, or to provide you with additional details to help you find out what went wrong, in case you did not receive a crash report from the installation program (I sent it twice).
