  1. I have current version of Sync running on a Feral seedbox and on my home NAS (Asustor) through a R7000 router. Speeds will transfer in the neighborhood of 250 KB/s until I restart the Sync app on my NAS. Then I get 4-5 MB/s no problems, for a while, (not sure how long though.) I have tried to give the local address for the NAS priority "quality of service" on the router but have seen no improvement. Charter is my carrier, and I am not aware of them throttling, and the fact that it goes at faster speeds upon restarts makes me think it's not Charter... What do you think I can do to maintain the normal faster speeds? (Happy to give more details to try to troubleshoot this!) Thanks for any help, J
  2. Hey there everyone, I've tried playing around with Sync Home (free) to synchronize my music folder on my PC to my phone. Previously, I have synced my music through MusicBee but it's getting very tedious with how long it takes and how regularly it fails. However, my attempts at syncing haven't allowed me to specify where on my Android phone I'd like to sync to, and sets to the default (/storage/emulated/0/Download/Sync/MP3). I have a 200GB SD card for this very purpose and want to make use of it, as my phone storage isn't big enough for all of my music. Is this a limitation of the free version, and if so, which version do I need to buy to get around it? Or am I just missing something altogether? Thanks for any help or feedback!
  3. I have a Seedboxes account with Resilio Sync setup. I Resilio to sync files between my seedbox and a computer. Let's say I have 100 files in the seedbox that is setup to sync, then Resilio Sync will start to download maybe 20 of those files at the same time to my local computer. For me that is inconvenient because I will have to wait for 20 files to finish before I can open one of them on my local computer. So basically what I am asking is, is it possible to make Resilio Sync download one file at at time instead of downloading multiple files at the same time?
  4. Hello, i have a strange problem: I have to sync some files on a server with a remote co-worker. So i decided to use Resilio. The problem is that whenever he connects using the Shared Key R/W , some of the files in that folder disappear, and there's no log or anything Can you help me?
  5. I have one fast startup SSD disk, with less space and one larger slower disk. It would be great being able to sync both of these on different disks. At the moment, I can share a folder on the fast SSD to other computers, but it will appear on the default location. In the future, it would be a great feature just to right click on the folder and choose a new location for it. Think I will have to use 1TB Dropbox now for the SSD and use Resilio Sync for the big disk...
  6. I was facing this issue since few months. Frequently, All my resilio settings were lost and I used some really undesirable workarounds till now. Today I found a perfect solution which works everytime. The Setup: System: Centos 6.6 x86_64 wget https://download-cdn.resilio.com/stable/linux-x64/resilio-sync_x64.tar.gz cd /home/user/bin tar -xf ../resilio-sync_x64.tar.gz ./rslsync Running above commands, I could access the webUI and did all the settings (setting up username and password etc.). After 2 days I logged in to the same machine and ./bin/rslsync The service started. I accessed the webUI and for my surprise, I was asked the username, password and re-enter password which was asked 2 days ago, It looked like all the settings were lost. Same issue while using crontab. Solution: I noticed a .sync directory inside /home/user/bin/ Copied the directory inside the home directory cp -r /home/user/bin/.sync /home/user/bin Killed resilio sync and restarted it. Everything works fine now. Is it a bug? A NO from me. Reason: When you run the rslsync for the first time, The .sync directory which stores all the information about sync is created in the Current Working Directory. While running rslsync, You need to be in the directory which was your pwd while you first ran rslsync Let's say, You are running resilio for the very first time. rslsync binary is stored in /home/user/bin/ , And you did cd /home/Downloads /home/user/bin/rslsync resilio will start and .sync directory will be created in your pwd ie. /home/user/Downloads Next time, If you are in your home directory and you do /home/user/bin/rslsync Resilio will start but settings will be lost. But, cd /home/user/Downloads /home/user/bin/rslsync will work This is troublesome if you only have 1 resilio setup. So make sure you run rslsync in your home directory initially. On the other side, If you want to have multiple resilio setups on the same machine and that too with the same user, This "so called bug" is awesome. You can have multiple different shares with different credentials and different setups. Though only 1 will be running at a time. Hope this helped. Thanks
  7. When you set up a sync folder with Selective Sync ON, the entire directory shows up with folders containing placeholder files. This is great because you can search these directories (with Alfred for example) and then just sync the file you want to use. However, when you choose a folder and select "Remove from this device," the folder's contents and the folder itself turn into placeholders. Now you can no longer enter that folder and see what's inside, nor can you search it. This is really annoying. What I then tend to do is unsync the contents of each folder individually instead of unsyncing the folder. It would really be great if, when you unsync a folder, it preserves the folders and only replaces the files with placeholders.
  8. Hi I was syncing some large files from a host down to my external USB drive and It has stuck at indexing, It currently says: 98% - indexing It has been doing this for hours now I tried pausing and resuming did nothing then I tried disconnecting and removing the sync then deleting the sync folder on the HDD and then I set up the sync again to the same destination and stuck at ( 98% - indexing ) again. Files sizes vary but total 30GB. I looks like it is stuck on the last 2 files that have not started to transfer. Thanks for the reply.
  9. Two specific folders keeps showing infinitely: - folder Private: Progress "11% a few seconds" - 4.5Gb content, 26 645 files, 3 765 folders - folder Dev: Progress "1% a few seconds" - 10,71 Gb content, 388 047 files, 83 909 folders on Windows7 Pro, using Resilio Sync v2.5.6. Both folders has a lot files, some of them are changing frequently (like Firefox browser profile directory). The Dev 1% progress never changes, altough the status is a green checkmark.
  10. Hi, Is there a way to synchronize (up & down) a folder on a shared web host server ? I can't install any exe on server side . I would like users with an identified resilio sync key , share a web public site on their own computer with resilio sync home, then they don't have to use FTP to upload or download documents, plus they can get files uploaded from the server side. I found a freeware to sync a local folder with the website with FTP.... but it's a bit tricky. Any idea ? w°w
  11. How does the sync work over non-WiFi (3g,4g etc...) How does my phone discover changes on my PC without any central server? Is there an URL with my device key? How does this work?
  12. In the past i was able to create an adhoc wireless network on my windows 10 and 8 laptops, then connect an ipad or iPhone and do a wlan sync without internet. I can still ping my apple devices IP address from laptop (windows 10 pro x64 with most current public release and newest wifi drivers). I can also use other iOS programs and transfer between iOS and laptop, so i believe the adhoc network is still functioning fine. I have to do this as i am out of internet connection range at times and also i don't want to waste iPhone monthly bandwidth when i am in range. It never shows a peer also I have experimented with changing tracker and relay settings as well as checked windows firewall and see a tcp and udp entry for sync. Any help would be appreciated, it is behaving as if it is a firewall issue. When i tried as an experiment, 2 iOS devices and the laptop, no devices were syncing or seeing each other, so it may not be firewall. What settings are recomended? Or did this functionality go away with newer versions?
  13. I have a FreeNAS server that houses a bunch of directories I'm trying to sync. I had setup 3 shares and 2 of them are working fine while one has been in a Connecting state for 30 minutes. I'll let everyone know that I had just reset this current computer and have a TON of other downloads going on concurrently (OneDrive, Steam, Origin ...etc). Also, the folder that's having a problem is a few terabytes compared to 50-350 gigabytes for the other 2. Should I just be patient and wait for everything else to finish and let btsync do its thing? Origin server is FreeNAS 11 running the plugin and the client computer is Windows 10 (up to date) I can provide logs if needed.

  15. Moving Sync to New PC

I have a single seat PRO license and just got a new desktop computer. I have a folder on my old machine synced to a remote backup machine. I plan to use an external harddrive to move the complete folder from my old desktop to my new machine. Is there a best practices way to make this transfer without re-syncing all the files to the remote machine?
  16. I simply just want to, copy, paste or move a file / folder in Sync Mobile App. Either I'm missing a really easy one or none of these features are built into the mobile app?? I can't even simply move a file once it's uploaded on the mobile. Also having an issue that I can't even choose past 1 folder deep on our data base when uploading files via mobile. Anyone have this same issues? These are extremely basic operations. Pretty blown away I'm not seeing it anywhere. Would appreciate any help. I'm on a Google Pixel everything is up to date.
  17. Hi, I just started out using resilio and i'm super happy with it so far. I sync 2 big folders from my nas to my workstation and my Laptop unfortunately the sync stops at 99% and won't finsh at any of my devices. It seems like most of the data is there and also the changes appear across the plattforms but it never is "finished". Bestides some small naming issues that resillio changed there are no conflicts. My HW is a Synology DS416, Windows 10 Workstation and an old Macbook Pro. Is there a way to make sure all data gets synced correct? thanks in advance! best, Bernd.
  18. Good morning, I am trying to install Resilio Sync Home on Mac OS X 10.10.5 and it does not allow me to install it since it indicates that it is damaged and can not be opened I downloaded it with different browser and from another computer passing it to this but the problem persists Attached screenshot to see that error. A greeting.
  19. When you have multiple sub-folders, it's sometimes a pain to see how much or if any of the sub-folders are synced. A great solution would be to show: a green tick next to a folder if all the folder's contents have been synced an orange tick next to a folder if only some of the folder's content has been synced nothing if nothing has been synced Another feature that would be useful for groups of people syncing from a central server would be the ability to enable or disable the "Remove from all devices" context menu items for for specified users. Since Resilio syncs bidirectionally, this is an all too easy way to wipe something off a server. Sure there's trashboxes where you can get it back, but it would be better to prevent such a situation all together.
  20. I have loaded sync onto a windows 7 Pro and I want to sync a map drive to my NAS server which already has the sync software install on, the issue I getting is when trying to setup the folders it showing me my drive i.e.. c: and D: but I not able to see or browser my map drive which point to my main server. Can sync do this or just only to local drives?
  21. Hi. I have been using BTsync for about a year. I switched to Resilio and it is hanging continuously. By the way I lost the app password after install and had to login with ssh and erase: settings.dat, settings.dat.old from: /share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/ResilioSync/Storage/ So I could access the app. The resilio icon has disappeared from menu screen as well so I have to continuously open App Center to 'stop' the hung app and restart it. I runs for a while. Sometimes minutes, sometimes hours and then hangs again. I didn't realize I was not auto syncing for a few months as this NAS is there for backup primarily. Quite frustrated over here. Anybody have any ideas? BB
  22. Changed process when syncing files

When syncing files on Windows (possibly on other platforms as well) the file currently syncing is opened denying write access to other processes. This is ofcourse natural, but let me describe my use case and then explain my suggestion. I have set up BT Sync on several computers and devices both to achieve a constant back up, but more importantly distributing my project files so I can (almost) immediatly go to another work place and access my updated files there. BT Sync is the only tool that has a fast enough indexing function to achieve that, that I have found. I have hundreds of thousands of files covered by BT Sync but still, changing a random file will almost immediatly sync it to my other work places. This is awesome and very unique. My problem is that while BT Sync is working on a file, it is locked. So compiling my project will fail if BT Sync happens to be working on the .exe (or debug map files) of that specific project. As these files can be anywhere between 50 and 100 mb when compiling them with debug info (and I have some rather slow links on my network) this can be anoying, and I usually pause the sync (which will stop syncing the file, but annoyingly continuing to index and notify my of locked files). My suggestion is to look into the possibility (and ofcourse implement it if possible) of creating a local copy of the file to sync BEFORE it is synched, and then read from the created local copy. That will make the locked time much shorter and allowing the user to keep on working on his or her project without interference from BT Sync. The fact that it is not the absolutelly latest file beeing synced doesn't matter I think. BT Sync could abandon the sync if it detects a new version of the original file, or simply pick up the changes in the next indexing cycle.
  23. Upgrade Question

Is it possible to upgrade from the free individual sync to the sync for work-groups and maintain shared folders, settings, etc... an in place upgrade, or do I need to restart from scratch?
  24. Hi, I added three folders to sync and have a laptop, PC and my Synology NAS DS411+II. The laptop and PC seem to be fine with the syncing but my NAS box has been indexing for about a week and is continually thrashing my hard drives. I've done some research and tried setting folder rescan to 24 hours on the NAS as well as turning encryption off and folder notification too but it's not working. What can I do to get it set up properly? I'm using ver 2.4.4-1
  25. If I wanted to sync a desktop sitting at another location with its own internet connection, how does it know how to find my home server to backup on? I'm assuming it would store the last IP address used, but eventually my home internet IP will change. If my home IP address changes, how will the off site computer know how to connect again? Is it not 100% peer to peer? Does Resilio sync store this info and keep it updated? I have both computers locally now and its working great, but once I move one of the desktops offsite to its permanent location it will be connected via internet only from then on.
