  1. I installed the BT Sync Drobo App on my Drobo 5N and allowed it time to synchronize. The next time I logged in it told me the clock differed by more than 10 minutes from its peers. I checked all the clocks and they were all the same. However, two peers were using GMT and the Drobo used PDT. (I checked the Drobo by installing Dropbear and SSH-ing in. I'm in EDT BTW.) Apparently there's no way to tell the Drobo which time zone to use. Theoretically, these are all UNIX machines and everybody measures time in seconds since the epoch so there shouldn't be a problem, but I'm assuming since BT Sync runs on a PC it has to play to the lowest common denominator. The only way I could think of fixing this was to add tz="GMT" export TZ="${tz}" to DroboApps/BitTorrent_Sync/service.sh This seems to have worked, in that I stopped getting the message, but I did have two corrupt databases as a result. After disconnecting and connecting one of them it seems to be fine. (I still have to do the other.) Ideally I would have done this before connecting to my peers. If anyone else has any better ideas please let me know. Michael
  2. Hello! I was wondering if BitTorrent could help me in my situation. We have a team of 20 people working for the same company. We are located across the US. Everybody has a folder "Projects' under "My Documents" (on C:). Under "Projects" Person 1 has subfolders "Project A" and "Project B" on his PC. Person 2 has subfolders "Project C" and "Project D" under "Projects" on his PC. We all have a network folder (I'll call it "NF") that we all can access. 1. I want each team member to be able to sync all his subfolders under "Projects" to NF. 2. I do NOT want ALL subfolders under NF to sync back to EVERYBODY's "Projects" folder (like Acronis does). I want Person 1 (above) to sync to NF only his "Project A" and "Project B" subfolders; and I want Person 2 to sync to NF only his "Project C" and "Project D" subfolders. Google Drive, for exampe, allows that. 3. Once a person is done working on a specific project, I want him to be able to sync it to NF one last time and then to stop syncing and leave it only on NF - so that the project folder is sitting permanently under NF, but is not synced back to this person's "Projects" anymore. Thanks a lot for your comments!
  3. When I discovered this program I made a plan how to backup my files. My wish was to synch my folders and files on my PC into local NAS disk and also to remote NAS disk, but the thing doesn't work in a way that I want. The synchronization between my PC and remote NAS don't start, neither between two NAS. Only if I disconnect or switch off the local NAS the synchronization with remote NAS begin. I hoped that, with new version, something will change, but nothing happen. What is the reason of this behaviour. It is any hope that this will work in properly way?
  4. Hey there folks As the whole dropbox-alternative thing got interesting for me with the kickstartet initiative "plug" I got curious about this solution - and it looks really promising, but also does not seem to work for me from here. I created two Sync Folders on my Windows 7 PC, one with two files directly in it (a gif and a txt), one empty. I connected both to my android phone (Huawei Ascend G300) via Connect Mobile which seemed to work surprisingly well. Ah, I forgot to mention that I created a new empty folder on my mobile for sychronization with the partially filled folder and for the empty one on the PC I chose my phones DCIM folder for instant photo synchronization. However, nothing seems to synchronize. The app keeps telling me, that "0 devices are online". --- Could it be, that there is something in my company's network that blocks anything trying to use any bittorrent'ish protocols? //end noobspeak I will give it another try at home this evening then.
  5. Please, not much kick. I got the idea. The pictures have tried to draw the detail in which situations, and how to implement synchronization with the computer turned off. Here as well, you can add memory function in your account (you need to create additional accounts or just implement the function of the binder storage "dropbox, etc") all computers / devices. With the map on which devices do not fully synchronize the file (an old version of the file)
