  1. On two computers (new devices, only Windows 10 Pro, Thunderbird, LibreOffice and Sync installed), I unstalled Sync. The uninstall process does delete all (!) of my Documents, Downloads, all personal data, even from other accounts. Furthermore, the windows computer cannot be startet again, I always get a BSOD loop. Maybe it has to do with the current update from Microsoft (Meltdown, Spectre)? The windows update was installed automatically before I uninstalled Sync.
  2. So here is the deal. My sync setup on one of the computers was messy from the start. Today I tried to fix things up with no luck. Here is what I did: 1) I uninstalled Resilio Sync (2.5.2) using Control Panel (I'm on Windows 10 x64) via admin account. 2) I tried to install fresh from user account I use daily, but the setup gave me "...2.5.2 detected, will shutdown to continue...". Setup apparently tried that, but failed, and setup gave up. 3) I deleted %appdata%\Resiolio Sync folders from admin and user accounts; 4) I fully scanned registry and deleted anything related to resilio or btsync; 5) Tried to install Resilio Sync again via user account - got the same notification that 2.5.2 is present. Can you advice me what else "to clean" so the setup wont find anything and would freshly install? Sync was never installed as a service (double checked services list to make sure).
  3. Good morning It's about 10 days that i have syncing problems between my devices like in photo ! I need a tutorial for totally uninstall, clean ALL ResilioSync system folders / traces ( like, for example in Windows 7, also the C:\Users\+++\AppData\Roaming\Resilio Sync folder) and redo a fresh ResilioSync installation into my Mac, my 2 Synology Nas and a Windows 7 pc. After that it is better to start with a full folder only into one device or i can keep full folder into every devices (and Resylio compare them) ? May you help me please ? Thx in advantage Alfy
  4. I am trying to uninstall BitTorrent Sync. When I drag the BitTorrent Sync.app file to the trash I get the following error: I have of course clicked Quit on BitTorrent Sync and it closed the app properly. This is a bit of a problem obviously and to be honest I have never had that problem with any other OS X app. I am also of the opinion that any software that writes folders somewhere else should have a proper uninstaller. There is a folder in Library > Application Support which contains journal files, logs, etc. which would just stay there for no reason. Also it seems like it doesn't close all processes when you quit the application. How can I delete BitTorrent Sync (without restarting - this is on a Server that cant be restarted easily)? Please make a proper installer and uninstaller for BTSync. You know its the right thing to do Running OS X 10.10.5 and BitTorrent Sync 2.2.1 Thanks, Armin.
  5. I had an old version (1.4) installation running in my ubuntu 14.04 installation. After I got a notification in the web-frontend to upgrade, I downloaded the new 2.0 version of Bittorrent Sync and tried to install it. As the old version was still installed I initially failed to do so. So I removed the Binaries (=the file I installed wtih 1.4), removed the btsync packages I found in the software manager and several hidden folders connected to Bittorrent sync (hope I got all). I could finally install the 2.0 version and start the webgui but seem to have misspelled the password I set up for the webgui as I now cant login to the localhost:8888 gui anymore. I fail to remove the 2.0 installation in a way that i could after reinstallation setup the password again. After each re-installation I am asked to enter the password which I dont have. Therefore my question: How can I remove the bittorrent sync installation completely under ubuntu? (Folders so far removed the folder with the binaries and all hidden folders within. the hidden btsync folder one hierachy higher (user folder))Or how can I reset the password for the webgui? (is there a config file? And where?) Thanks a lot for helping me out!
  6. I've used Sync 1.x successfully for a simple sync task. Following the 2.0 upgrade I'm unable to perform the same task. The simple task is to sync the public pictures and documents folders on two Windows 8 laptops used interchangeably by my wife and I. We travel independently a lot. We appreciate having the latest versions of shared pictures/docs available locally on whichever laptop we're using. In layman's terms (I admit that's what I am with IT matters), with Sync 1.x the public folders on the two separate laptops were directly linked. Whatever changes were made to files in the folder of one were mirrored in the equivalent folder of the other. With Sync 2.0, the architecture seems to have changed, so that changes to files in a sync'd folder in one laptop are mirrored on the other in a new folder: Users>[userrname]>Bittorrent Sync. I'm unable to link the equivalent folders (i.e., the public pictures/documents folders) of the two laptops directly. The entire contents of the sync'd folder of the first laptop are downloaded to the new Bittorrent Sync folder on the second laptop, duplicating most of the content already in the equivalent public folder of the second laptop. So while I can access and amend the public folders of the first laptop via the second, it's through the new 'Bittorrent Sync' folder created on the second laptop, not the equivalent public folders on the second laptop. How can I manage folders in the 'old' way through Sync 2.0? (Incidentally, I've tried uninstalling 2.0 and reinstalling 1.4, but 1.4 will no longer run on either laptop, despite the fresh install.) Help and advice will be most gratefully received.
  7. I'm on OS X Mavericks and used RoyW's guide to install BitTorrent Sync on my WD My Cloud: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/17214-help-installing-bt-sync-on-wd-mybook-live/ It's just been giving me headaches and not really doing what I need it to do. I stopped having the ability to add new folders or monitor my folders in the web UI. I found a different solution, so I'm going with that and ditching BitTorrent Sync (sorry!). I've removed it from my Mac, but now I want to know how to uninstall it from my My Cloud. I assume it's the same kind of process as with installation - firing up Putty and executing some commands. Any tips on this? Thanks!
  8. How do you properly uninstall / reinstall Bittorrent Sync in a Windows 8 environment? I don't see it under the Add/Remove programs UI.
  9. I wish to uninstall BitTorrent Sync. The program is "hung up" and I can find no place and no option on my computer to close the BTSync window, shut it down and uninstall it. I'm operating on a MacBook Air. I am not a computer expert so any directions in this regard need to be expressed in very simple and easy to follow terms. One more thing -- I "ejected" the BTSync disk in Finder, even though there never was, technically, a disk. This made no difference. Please help -- I just want this program off my computer!!!
