  1. As some may know, I'm developing a system (based on the Sync API) to distribute mp4 video files over computers inside a few schools. As BitTorrent's clients have a feature to allow playing video while still downloading (known as "streaming"), are there any plans to have this feature on Sync?
  2. Hi all, I have just recently been recommended Resilio Sync as I have a production company based in London, but I will be personally moving overseas and keeping the London studio open...So I would like to still be able to view, edit and update existing edits as they occur in London using my guys there. Adobe have announced Team Projects which allows for this type of collaboration but no release date, so I was told about this option. I have done some quick tests and it seems to work reasonably well, but I was just wondering if anyone out there has done this type of setup and if you have any workflows you could recommend. Resilio has an case study on it's site but was just seeing if anyone had any more details. My thought on a workflow would be, someone in the London studio would ingest/transcode the media into proxies through a Premiere project, then sync the Proxies folder to Resilio as well as the project that they created. I would then sync to this folder in my location and then do a "save as" of this project and then I guess downlaod the proxies to a working hard drive that I use to edit from. I do the edit, send to the client etc and once approved, sync the final project to Resilio, so back in London they pick it up and relink to the high res media and export. If I'm way off base, and missing many steps, I apologise in advance but any help would be very much appreciated. Most of our projects are short form web based with 1-3 days shooting so there isn't bucket loads of media but if we are shooting 4K then file sizes will be high so I am looking for a good HD / 4K workflow using Sync and Premiere thanks!
  3. Hi all, I've noticed that Sync won't play video in fullscreen on iOS. Whenever I start a video it plays in 'portrait mode' and will not adjust to fullscreen when the phone is rotated. This wasn't an issue in the previous version of the iOS app. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm not sure how to log a problem in the iOS app, but if there's any info missing from the above let me know.
  4. I recently came across Bit Torrent Sync and started to wonder if this was the simple answer to a lot of our problems. So before I launch into questions, I'd like to explain our current setup.... Myself and a colleague in the USA, maintain a distribution system for delivering large video files of TV programmes to around thirty countries worldwide. These files range from 2GB to 20GB. At the moment we use a combination of Wuala and Google cloud services. Both cost money, can be buggy on downloading large files and don't really offer much in the way of logging file transfers, maintaining user lists etc. Security is not great since links can be forwarded etc without our knowledge. Not everyone on our list of users has great internet, we send to places like West Africa, South Africa, Australia and Malaysia, where download speeds and upload speeds can vary tremendously. I have use torrents before and found they are an extremely robust way of downloading large files. But I'd appreciate some advice on how we could best set up a network of Sync clients amongst ourselves that leveraged the best of Bit Torrent. One question I have, would it be essential to have several master clients? By this I mean several users who have good speeds, who can maintain a full library of files. If that is the case, I imagine the storage systems would have to be on 24/7 and possibly in a RAID configuration. Are there any helpful tips from other Sync users who can help us set this up in the most secure and well organised fashion. I thank you for reading this long message and welcome comments.
  5. Hi, I'd like to sync large video files as soon as they are being generated (sync even if the video is still being generated). I've read about bittorrent sync won't sync if they are in use/locked/open... so, how can be achieved this task?? regards,
