  1. Hi BTSync community! The subject explains the issue, let me give some background: sudo systemctl status btsync yields active (running) so this seems to indicate that it is running properly. I previously had set it up with the unofficial repository, but since that is way out of date, at one point in the past I had installed it manually. I could always access the webgui this way. Upon finding out there was the official repository, I installed the official repository on my 14.04 ubuntu server and it synced fine, but I could not access the webgui... I decided I would wait to try again after a fresh install of the now released 16.04 (thought maybe the issue was not uninstalling previous repository properly). I still am seeing the same issue with regards to accessing the webgui. it returns: "site can't be reached" and lower "site refused to connect" in chrome when trying to access 8888. I am not a linux power user by any means, but am generally able to work my way around the terminal reasonably well... point is, don't assume something obvious that should be done has already been done... It may not be obvious to me! Is there something else I have to do to get the webgui working when using the official repository? What troubleshooting should I do next? Thanks for the help in advance!

    Security of the webgui

Would it be madness to make the webgui available publicly, or is this ok as long as you use a strong password? Do attackers have as long as they like to brute force the credentials, or is there some rate limiting and/or IP banning on failed logins implemented by BTSync?
  3. Hello, I am new to the forum. I have been running BTSync for around 4 months on my FreeNas box. Yesterday I noticed there was an update available for the Plugin. I went ahead and updated and afterwards i logged into the webgui. I was prompted with the same welcome wizard you get when installing BTSync on a client machine. At the end of the wizard it asks you if you want to create new 2.0 links or you already have one. I chose I already had one but after selecting that option i relies i didn't see the option i wanted. i hit the back or close button and my screen turned to a gray background with a thin line in the shape of a box. I can't seem to get out of this. I have rebooted my NAS box and reset the plugin service. I have tried getting the to webgui page though different browsers and even different pc's. still no change. My links still work but I am unable to add new or do any administration over them. I would rather not have to uninstall/re-install and recreate my links. Any suggestions would greatly appreciated! 4. Hi Guys, can you please help me out here. The WebGUI is asking for a password and I don't know where's the config file to edit in Windows 7. Screenshot: http://imgur.com/Rg6u1q7
  5. I would like to see, even as an option would fit me perfectly, the possibility to change to view of the name of my share from the compact one to one where I can see the full path to it's directory. I handle quite a few Shares where I name them the same. I have 5 "temp" shares but the all point to diffrent peers. And if I have to hover over all of them or guess the size the share could have to find the one I'm looking for.. it kind of makes me cringe every time. So how does that sound to you?
