gabor
Hi,Should this work behind corporate proxy? In my home environment works between locations but in the office it looks blocked.ThanksGps: unable to contact update server also
kos13
Sync doesn't support proxy for now, so if your company uses it, then you could synchronize only inside the company. We plan to add proxy support.

haiml
This is a very important feature that no other sync client (at least not cubby or aerofs) implemented yet.Is it high on your priorities?
kos13
High priority is to make sure Sync works from corporate network. Proxy is just a part of this activity, which is quite easy to implement.
jonnojohnson
Haven't had chance to start using Sync yet but this feature will likely be crucial for me.I want to use a device insides my work network as a backup location for home pc and vice versa.I don't know the details of the controls of my work network unfortunately but the more tools you can provide to make this transparent the better. erenoglu
Sync doesn't support proxy for now, so if your company uses it, then you could synchronize only inside the company. We plan to add proxy support. This is great. I also checked when I was at work and I saw it was not synchronizing. However, kos13, I also saw that you commented that we can sync inside the company. So you mean this does not refer to any external tracker of some sort and can directly find sync computers? (since we can't reach any tracker DHT etc when at work)? kos13
Correct. If two machines are within one segment of LAN they will find each other without need for internet connection.

Haron
Didn't hear about proxy support for a long time. Are there any news about it or estimations?
capi
They'll need to add TCP support first, before being even able to think about a proxy, because I don't know of any UDP proxy.
Dantounet
Bittorrent sync starts to look good and I am now using it for several folders. Can't wait for it too work behind proxy.
leepfrog
We really need this. BTSync has some strong arguments against e.g. Dropbox by keeping data off the cloud. However this is useless for many if you cannot use it at work.Dropbox any almost any other solution uses HTTPS to tunnel the traffic (which makes it easy to support proxies). You should even be able to tunnel UDP over HTTPS (ovenvpn does this), but if work was already done implementing TCP than this should be the better approach. iranzo
High priority is to make sure Sync works from corporate network. Proxy is just a part of this activity, which is quite easy to implement.So... there's any specific time frame to get this implemented? I would prefer http/https proxy, but even socks5 could do the trick. Thanks
mabden
I'm willing to pay for proxy support. How long should I wait for her?
NipponBill
We've got BTsync working just about everywhere with even Android and iOS clients. Proxy support would really make this a DropBox/Cubby killer. Any updates on this?

asjwood
+1 for this getting Sync working on corporate networks! I just discovered Sync today as I would like to keep the music on my home NAS and work PC in sync. If Sync could go through my work proxy server then it would be the perfect solution! NipponBill
That was the first thing I checked for in the new version, but unfortunately there was no proxy support. They did open up the API though. Perhaps someone else can help add proxy support now?
