Cannot save Device Name of Linux x86 version

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I installed btsync on my ubuntu x86. After I set device name in btsync website (8888), the device name is saved and sync to all other devices. But after I reboot this server, device name is restored to the original name -- the computer name.

How to save it permanently?

Thanks.

here is how to change the hostname, but i recommend to use a config file.

http://www.subvs.co....e_computer_name

./BTSync --config sync.conf

and put this in the sync.conf file:

{
"device_name": "Name your device",
"check_for_updates" : true,
"webui" :{
"listen" : "0.0.0.0:8888",
"login" : "username",
"password" : "password"
},
"shared_folders" :
[
]
}

well if you dont want to use username and password just comment them with // at the beginning of the line
