I have set up synchronization between multiple offices.

On one of the computers BTSync wrote in the log:

[2013-05-30 11:03:00] EncryptionHandler: failed to find decryption key for incoming connection

What does this phrase mean?

Yes, I experimented with folders, create and delete some of synchronized folders.

I am getting the same error for the same reason. I deleted the .Trash directories. However, after putting them back I still get the same error. What to do?

I have this problem as well - am trying to share a folder between a brand new Linux client to a mac. They can see one another but the initial sync or later changes are not propagated in either direction.

It now means that BTSync is trying to connect to a share that it's impossible for it to connect to.

Specifically, the protocol has changed between V1.0.* and V1.1.* so that they cannot share with each other. They still try to connect but it will never succeed.

It used to be that you would get this message for a little while after deleting a share, until the other peers realised that you didn't have it any more.

Aha! Thanks for taking the time to explain, I was completely stumped. It's working now.

For anyone else who comes across this thread you can get the latest version at At the time of writing it's not listed on the main btsync download page, hence my using an outdated version.
