eseelke
Try using the predefined hosts option under General preferences.I would recommend making sure both machines have a static IP.

GreatMarko
Also, turn off the "Use relay server when required", "Use tracker server" and "Search DHT network" options

michaelleewebb
which port should i use. tried 1234. no luck. all firewalls are down.
eseelke
You will need to enter the listening port of the BitTorrent Sync client that you are trying to connect to. you can get this by opening up the Preferences tab.

Disappointed Cat
Is at least one of those ports opened on the respective computer? In other words: are they allowed through the firewalls?
rdebath
Can the machines "ping" each other? Are the machines connected by wifi? My Wifi router has an option called "AP Isolation" which stops the wireless PCs from talking to each other.Does it work if one is on wifi and the other on a wire ?You shouldn't need to change the default configuration for the PCs to find each other on a single LAN.
