tons28
Thanks for your answer but how i do install it ?
stallemanden
You need to access your NAS through SSH.It's rather easy to do, but requires some knowledge as to how to do it.In the official guide, there is a section regarding the linux version. The procedure is the same on your nas
stallemanden
Also, you could take a look at http://www.synocommunity.com/packagesThey've made a package that can be installed using the Package Center. However, it is, as you can se, rather outdated. Why the administrators chose to add the package for BTSYNC, yet not support a faster update of it, I don't know. JimmyTheSaint
Latest build for Synology NAShttp://syncapp.bitto...4-1.1.42.tar.gzAre you sure that's the correct version for the DS213+, which has a QorlQ P1022 PPC CPU?
stallemanden
Are you sure that's the correct version for the DS213+, which has a QorlQ P1022 PPC CPU?Ohh, Sorry about that. I must have made a mistake when looking at the CPU list.It would seem, that there currently is no build suited for the DS213+, unless it actually has a newer glibc than most other systems Synology ships.Do you have the possibility to verify/check which version it has ? stallemanden
Great - hopefully this will move on to other versions as well.I have both DS-710+ and DS-712+ and both of the run version 2.3.6Anyway, then this should be the one for you: http://syncapp.bittorrent.com/1.1.42/btsync_ppc_quoriq-1.1.42.tar.gz

matahan
Too bad, I am too late. Yes, the qoriq-one does work on a DS213+. If you feel like being lazy, just install the Community Package one so hat you are able to start and stop btsync from your DSM-Interface.After that, stop the service and replace the /usr/local/btsync/bin/btsyncwith the already mentioned one.Have fun
JimmyTheSaint
I just took some time putting together a short guid as to get btsync working on a synology nasThe guide works great, despite having to use the much-hated vi editor. When will Synology, Inc. evolve to emacs, I wonder?
ahagen
I did not have any luck with this guide for installing Bittorrent Sync on my Synology DS207+ (ARM). I managed to use wget http://syncapp.bittorrent.com/1.2.82/btsync_arm-1.2.82.tar.gz and to extract the files to the bin folder. However the btsync command give me a "-ash: btsync: not found" error. Is there a pre-requisite that I have missed?
JimmyTheSaint
Sounds like the executable isn't in your path. cd to its directory and type "./btsync" and specify the conf file on the command line.
ahagen
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it did not work. I cd to the bin folder. The btsync file is there, but when trying to do a ./btsync --dump-sample-config > ../conf/sync.conf it says-sh: ./btsync: not found Here's the contents of the bin folder: drwxr-xr-x 2 btsync users 4096 Jan 11 11:53 .drwxr-xr-x 4 btsync users 4096 Jan 11 11:32 ..-rw-r--r-- 1 btsync users 155 Jul 22 21:39 LICENSE.TXT-rwxr-xr-x 1 btsync users 4073804 Nov 28 20:38 btsync-rw-rw-rw- 1 btsync users 2244128 Nov 28 21:46 btsync_arm-1.2.82.tar.gz Any other suggestions on how to fix this? JimmyTheSaint
That really sounds like a path/permissions issue. I assume you're the correct user (root or btsync) when you execute that command line. Perhaps create the conf file and directory manually so that you have the two directories ~btsync/bin and ~btsync/conf with the correct contents. Then cd to ~btsync and use a command line like mine:> bin/btsync --config conf/sync.conf
ahagen
I indeed tried as both root and btsync. After having googled a bit more, there don't seem to be many users with a DS107+ or DS207+ who got this working. I'll try to research some positive installs first before going on a quest to resolve this issues.
