hernancho007
This is the problem description:1) open a file in excel, for example (myfile.xlsx)2) when you open the file, (~$myfile.xlsx) temp file is created by default3) the syncing creates also a file (~$myfile.xlsx.!sync)4) in excel, save the file as (my2file.xlsx)5) both (myfile.xlsx) and (my2file.xlsx) are synced, but the (~$myfile.xlsx.!sync) stays. If you modify a large number of microsoft office files, then you will forget that all this trash files are created. goli
Hey there. What about adding those files starting with "~" to the .SyncIgnore file? Should do the trick, imho.Kind regards,Stephan.
Tel
Hey there. What about adding those files starting with "~" to the .SyncIgnore file? Should do the trick, imho.Kind regards,Stephan. That only give a partial sucess (for me at least). I can block doc temps, but it seems to struggle with xlsx files. I have added the following to my ignore list..*~*.bak~$**.tmp*.TMP <- probably not needed but I saw TMP files coming through when tmp was already in the listbut temp files still get through. for example, I just dropped onto a customers sync folder and found this.. ~$Consultancy pipeline.xlsx.!sync despite having the same extra filters on all the synced folders. There's already been a case where someone edited the temp file thinking it was the normal version. I had to make them aware to ignore anything that started with a ~Terry
GreatMarko
Have you tried adding:~*...to your .SyncIgnore?
hernancho007
Thank you GreatMarko. The solution was as you suggested. There is no .GeneralSyncIgnore file? it would be usefull if you can have a customization in that sense at the bittorrent frame. GreatMarko
There is no .GeneralSyncIgnore file? No, there is not a "global" .SyncIgnore file governing all the folders you're syncing - each individual folder you add to Sync will have its own .SyncIgnore file containing rules for that folder (and any subfolder)

Is it safe to delete them? Please read the Unofficial FAQ for more about what .!sync files are. They should be automatically removed by Sync once transfers are complete, however, if a transfer fails/gets stuck, yes, you can safely remove the corresponding .!sync file, which will force Sync to obtain the file again.
