Tray Icon Disappeared In Linux Mint 14 With Mate

Hello,

I'm running Linux Mint 14 with Mate as the desktop environment.

BTSync seems to be running fine, but it's been a couple of days since the tray icon of BTSync has disappeared.

I've also tried killing the btsync processes and launch the program again, but nothing changed. It used to show up the fist few days of use.

Any suggestions? How to debug this issue?

Thanks

I suppose you are using the btsync-user package including Mark Johnson's btsyncindicator applet. Is this correct? If yes, you should first look, if the process is running. You can do this by entering the following command:

pgrep -u $(id -u) -f btsyncindicator.py

If you get back a number, the process is running. In this case it is definitively an issue of the btsyncindicator component. You should check the open issues and the related discussion on GitHub (https://github.com/marxjohnson/btsyncindicator/issues?state=open). If not, we should investigate further...
