stoneweg
Hi everybody, I had btsync setup fine and it started syncing with another Ubuntu machine (mine is 13.10, the other one 13.04). It never finished syncing (only roughly 200 MB were synced out of 6GB in total), and after some time (and some restarts) even the webpage in the browser didn't show any connected devices anymore. Here is the output of the log file: total physical memory 536870912 max disk cache 2097152Using IP address 192.168.178.21Loading config file version 1.2.82UPnP: Device error "http://192.168.178.1:49000/MediaServerDevDesc.xml": (-2) UPnP: ERROR mapping TCP port 17311 -> 192.168.178.21:17311. Any ideas? Thanks!Ok, after some time of waiting (more than an hour), the local webpage loaded, and the connected devices showed up. In the log, I got a couple of Loaded folder /home/xyz/foo/bar messages, so that's fine. But then it continues with:UPnP: Device error "http://192.168.178.1:49000/MediaServerDevDesc.xml": (-2) UPnP: ERROR mapping TCP port 17311 -> 192.168.178.21:17311. Is that kind of log normal, or shouldn't there be so many errors? After all, the synchronization does not work correctly between the connected device. Thanks in advance! Harold Feit
There appears to be a UPnP based server (such as a media server) running on your machine that isn't responding properly to the UPnP requests issued to it.It's probably reporting itself as a router when it isn't one. stoneweg
Ok, thanks for your answer! Maybe it is the router (FritzBox) or the TV... anyway, the sync with the other Ubuntu machine got stuck :-(
Native Advertisement
Ok, thanks for your answer! Maybe it is the router (FritzBox) or the TV... anyway, the sync with the other Ubuntu machine got stuck :-(Do you have an update on the issue? I re-installed BTsync on my Synology Diskstation and have been facing the same error since :S There appears to be a UPnP based server (such as a media server) running on your machine that isn't responding properly to the UPnP requests issued to it.It's probably reporting itself as a router when it isn't one. @Harold Feit: Is there a way to find the culprit? Using OS X's network utility or the like? Other than Synology's Music Station and Video Station there are no media servers installed on the machine. Stopping those did not help. Thanks in advance
