soebo
I have 3 computers.1 is currently being synced. The 2 other computers are now synced, or at least "almost". On both computers they agree that they need to sync 1008.6 kB. I have restarted the BTSync on both computers. But they do not sync the files. Can I see what files they still need to sync? Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? Thanks in advance.
Harold Feit
What version of sync are you using? Have you checked for .!sync temp files?
soebo
Both Windows XP, BTSync Version 1.2.91.I cant figure out how to upload a picture of the two computers, showing the Devices tab status. On my ftp server I have 61 GB data in 75.000 files and 33.000 directorys in a directory called "C:\Service". Normal filesize 10 KB to 100 KB. Avg is 840 Kb.Here I have installed BTSync and shared the readonly secret to the second computer. On the second computer I added. The "C:\Service" already had been synced with a ftp sync program. But the ftp sync program is very slow to sync that many directorys. 8+ hours. Therefore I am testing BTSync. The BTSync was installed with a readonly secret on the second computer and BTSync scanned the existing "C:\Service" folder and begun to download the missing files.BTSync is now done syncing and for two days the one computer says it needs to upload 1008.6 Kb and the other says it needs to download 1008.6 Kb.I have searched the directory for .!sync and there arent any.The "Restore modified files to original version" is set. RomanZ
Hi soebo, There are several possible reasons for your issue:- permissions (one of peers can't read / write particular file(s) or folder(s)- File lock (some file can be locked by an application so BTSync can't open it)- Different file name case (file(s) could be renamed by you or application with only letter case change - known bug in BTSync)- not enough space on peer to get the data You can check the bullet #2 and #4 easily (#2 - use "handle" utility by sysinternals to see who has open handles to your sync directory, #4 - check the disk free space). If that does not help - please make a debug logs from 2 of your peers (one which wants to send, another which can't receive) and send to me for analysis. soebo
#1 Permissions. On this XP pc I have searched the directory with "dir /s /ar" to find any file with readonly attrib set.None was found.#2 File lock: none found pointing to c:\Service.I have restarted both computers. This should take care of file locks. And no locks found using "handle service" command.C:\>handle serviceHandle v3.51Copyright © 1997-2013 Mark RussinovichSysinternals - www.sysinternals.comSystem pid: 4 type: File 8C: C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Lokale indstillinger\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.datSystem pid: 4 type: File E88: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\NTUSER.DATSystem pid: 4 type: File E8C: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\ntuser.dat.LOGSystem pid: 4 type: File E90: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Lokale indstillinger\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.datSystem pid: 4 type: File E94: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Lokale indstillinger\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.dat.LOGSystem pid: 4 type: File F64: C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Lokale indstillinger\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.dat.LOGSystem pid: 4 type: File F68: C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\ntuser.dat.LOGSystem pid: 4 type: File F70: C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\NTUSER.DATsvchost.exe pid: 1392 type: File 1ACC: C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Lokale indstillinger\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.datsvchost.exe pid: 1392 type: Section 1AD0: \BaseNamedObjects\C:_Documents and Settings_NetworkService_Lokale indstillinger_Temporary Internet Files_Content.IE5_index.dat_65536svchost.exe pid: 1392 type: File 1AD8: C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Cookies\index.datsvchost.exe pid: 1392 type: Section 1ADC: \BaseNamedObjects\C:_Documents and Settings_NetworkService_Cookies_index.dat_16384svchost.exe pid: 1392 type: File 1AE4: C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Lokale indstillinger\Oversigt\History.IE5\index.datsvchost.exe pid: 1392 type: Section 1AE8: \BaseNamedObjects\C:_Documents and Settings_NetworkService_Lokale indstillinger_Oversigt_History.IE5_index.dat_16384svchost.exe pid: 1392 type: File 1AEC: C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\IETldCache\index.datsvchost.exe pid: 1392 type: Section 1AF4: \BaseNamedObjects\C:_Documents and Settings_NetworkService_IETldCache_index.dat_262144svchost.exe pid: 492 type: File 170: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Lokale indstillinger\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.datsvchost.exe pid: 492 type: Section 17C: \BaseNamedObjects\C:_Documents and Settings_LocalService_Lokale indstillinger_Temporary Internet Files_Content.IE5_index.dat_32768svchost.exe pid: 492 type: File 180: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Cookies\index.datsvchost.exe pid: 492 type: Section 188: \BaseNamedObjects\C:_Documents and Settings_LocalService_Cookies_index.dat_16384svchost.exe pid: 492 type: File 18C: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Lokale indstillinger\Oversigt\History.IE5\index.datsvchost.exe pid: 492 type: Section 194: \BaseNamedObjects\C:_Documents and Settings_LocalService_Lokale indstillinger_Oversigt_History.IE5_index.dat_16384SoftMon.exe pid: 2792 type: Section 9C: \BaseNamedObjects\SoftmonServiceSharedMemexplorer.exe pid: 2836 type: File 3E0: C:\Serviceexplorer.exe pid: 2836 type: File D24: C:\ServiceBTSync.exe pid: 1180 type: File 488: C:\ServiceC:\>#3 different file name case. This is almost impossible for me to find.I hope this will be solved in a version soon to come.Surgestion: Double click on the device in "Devices tab" to see whitch files are to be synced.#4 Free space. The computer has 40+ GB free space. #5 Sync log from BWL-NOTE2, this computer needs to download 1008.6 Kb from FogBugz-PC.#5 Sync log from FogBugz-PC, this computer needs to upload 1008.6 Kb to BWL-NOTE2. RomanZ
Hi soebo, I've sent you a list of problematic files. It looks like they were renamed with only case change, which is a known issue for BTSync. I consider to re-sync them. We fixed this issue in upcoming release. soebo
This solution helped me:* Right click on the BTSync icon and select "Enable debug logging".* Restart BTSync.* Look at the log file in Windows: %APPDATA%\BitTorrent Sync\sync.log* Remove the files on your computer containing the "rejecting until file info is updated" text. One line is generated every second for every file with this problem. Thank you for your help RomanZ.
