Which Version To Use For Linux?

I'm a Linux noob. I did "uname -a" per the instructions above and this is the result: Linux LenovoLinux 3.11.0-12-generic #19-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 9 16:12:00 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux".

There are no i686 downloads. Can someone tell me which one to use? I'd guess one of the i386 but I want to make sure.

The standard i386 version is OK for your system. If your are using Debian or Ubuntu or Linux Min or any distribution derived from Debian, you may take in consideration to use the Desktop GUI Package. This will make your live much easier. If you are using Arch Linux, there is also a very good package - see the same thread.
