[Solved] Cannot Access Web Ui From Anything But Localhost

Recommended Posts

Just downloaded the latest version of BTSync for ARM (using it on a Raspberry Pi) and fired it up. I can only access the UI from the pi so I am currently tunneling over SSH. sync.conf doesn't seem to be a thing anymore and I don't see the setting for what IP to listen on for the web UI anywhere.

To be clear: I can access the UI perfectly from the machine btsync is running on, but not from any other machine on the LAN. The machine is not listening on port 8888 on anything except localhost.

netstat -an

tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:22              0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN

tcp        0      0 127.0.0.1:8888          0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN

How do I change the listen address?

How do I change the listen address?

Be default, access to the Web UI in Sync 1.4 is restricted to the loopback interface (i.e. "localhost" / "127.0.0.1")

If you need to access the Web UI via a different URL/IP, you'll need to specify it in your sync.conf config file (via the "listen" parameter)

...or alternatively, run Sync with the command line switch --webui.listen <IP:port> (see this article for more details)
