Testers Wanted For Synology Packages

Recommended Posts

I've updated the Sync folder in the first post to contain packages for alpine, armada375, avoton, and x64. This should cover the newer model Synology NAS. Please let me know if there are any issues with these new packages.

A note on DS414j support - as forum users are reporting that the arm build isn't working out-of-the-box - I am not yet packaging for comcerto2k. As it may be a while before I can work on the comcerto2k issues, folks with this NAS can reference this forum post for instructions on how to get Sync running on your own. However, note that you'll have to recreate the symbolic link  to the .so every time the DSM updates.

I'm going to work on replies for the posts since my last post next. Thank you for your patience.

I'm trying this on a Cedarview platform (1812+) and though it installed OK, I'm getting a blank page when I go to the web gui.

When I 'view source', the majority of the page is handlebar templates, but this can be found at the top:

<div id="noload" style="position:fixed; top:0px; height:100%; left:0px; width:100%; background:white; padding:40px;"><br><div>Your system was unable to load BitTorrent Sync properly.For information on how to fix this issue, please see the<a href="http://sync-help.bittorrent.com/customer/portal/articles/1706559-screen-loading-error">Sync Knowledge Base</a>.</div><br><div id="user-agent-text"></div><br><input type="button" onClick="history.go(0)" value="Reload"><br><br></div><script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">document.getElementById('user-agent-text').innerHTML = navigator.userAgent;</script> <div id="browser-container"><div id="main-container"><div id="logo-container"><img id="logo-image" src="images/logo.png"></div><div id="center-container"><div class="textmain">Sync does not support your web browser.</div><div class="text">For your security, please use a current version of Chrome or Firefox.</div></div></div></div>

The link takes me to a page that tells me that article isn't available in my language. Doesn't seem to be present at all, when I do a search of the knowledge base.

The logs are telling me everything is OK, but I'll dig around some more.

This unit had the Synocommunity package on it previously, but it was uninstalled before I installed this one.

Two suggestions:
a) a little more error logging would be nice ;)  'blank' web pages are not :(
B) looking at the long list of javascript files included in the header, you could seriously speed up page loading just by combining these files and minifying the result. Most browsers have a measurable fixed starting overhead for each JS file parsed.

I have a 1815+ and I'd love to test new versions. I'm having trouble figuring how to share a certain folder. Let's say I want to share a folder inside a main folder that's in volume1. //volume1/first folder/second folder. However this is what happens. I click volume1, it opens and I can see first folder, I click on that and it won't drop down with the list of folders with in that one. It said I don't have persmissions, however I'm the admin. Do i have to give some other username access?
